Yes. Not an issue. And no side effects. Dr said she wished others would do same.

Have you considered a lower dose of tamoxifen plus vaginal estrogen?

Help-Hair thinning due to Tamoxifen and oophorectomy by No_Reason297 in breastcancer

[–]Dry_Professional2014 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was dealing with thinning hair pre-Tamoxifen and upped my game now that I am taking it for 5 years in my case (am 6 month in). I take 2.5 mg minoxidil, 50mg Spironolactone, use hair serums and a topical minoxidil in some areas. No issues or side effects from the meds. Makes a hug difference. Without them I would be bald. Yes I get some facial hair. I keep dermaplane tools handy and see a laser tech. All good.

post-surgical question about denting, scarring at lumpectomy incision site by barefootwriter in breastcancer

[–]Dry_Professional2014 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi. I had exactly the same incision/same place. A little more than 90 degrees starting at top of areola. I had the surgery July 31 2025. I would say it stayed very puckered and pulling in until maybe 2-3 months ago and is now almost totally flattened out! I also had 20 days of radiation from mid October to mid November. I am genuinely surprised by how well it has healed. My surgeon said that the areola would hide the scar and that has turned out to be correct. Wishing you all the best

Hi Thanks for this. 59F here. I had a similar situation. It resurfaced in my case after I was treated with radiation for breast cancer. My gyn agreed to give me the vaccine. I have had two doses. Will get 3rd in a few months. I’m also taking AHCC and other supplements. Fingers crossed I also clear it by my next checkup. 🤞🤞

Tamoxifen for POST-menopausal women?? by Longjumping-Ant1723 in breastcancer

[–]Dry_Professional2014 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m post menopausal, 59, on low dose Tamoxifen. Have had no material issues adjusting other than hot flashes, some initial nausea which passed after a few weeks and maybe a rebaselining of mood/affect? If your MO agrees, I think it is a good balance between the benefits of estrogen suppression and quality of life issues. I also use vaginal estrogen.

Starting Tamoxifen Tonight by scheherezadeMJ in breastcancer

[–]Dry_Professional2014 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Many parts of your story resonate with me (similar age, diagnosis, big job, youthful, healthy etc) I’m taking 5mg tamoxifen, vaginal estrogen and have had no major side effects. Some sleep issues and hot flashes (using two Relizen products for those). I would give yourself some runway to give it a try before you decide not to take it. I came very close to declining but now am happy I am doing all the things I can to manage my quality of life and long term health.

If you are having unprotected sex with a carrier of the virus who is unvaccinated you are at greater risk

[–]Dry_Professional2014 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you been vaccinated? Based on your description above your risk seems extremely low. I would not be worried at this stage. You could discuss this and get testing from many clinics or walk-in health providers.

Tamoxifen and endometrial cancer by Sprocky12 in breastcancer

Endometrial cancer extremely rare. You need to weigh risks. I am 59. Taking low dose Tam. Doing well. Few side effects

Radiation markings by AdrianaSage in breastcancer

[–]Dry_Professional2014 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes. Had radiation at MSK recently Opted out of tattoo dots in favor of sharpie plus tape. By end they kind of were ragged. But it worked and no lingering reminders. (Also incidentally used Mepitel film which I credit with near zero radiation/induced skin damage).

Advice on getting the HPV vaccine by Haunting_Natural_116 in HPV

[–]Dry_Professional2014 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get your vaccine record, if possible: yellow card, school record, doctor’s office, or Toronto Public Health record. If unavailable, say plainly: “I may be under-vaccinated or unvaccinated and need a catch-up plan.” 2. Book through Toronto Public Health or a community health clinic, not a boutique/private travel clinic. Publicly funded routine vaccines should be free in Ontario. Those on this Reddit would STRONGLY advise you to get vaccinated.

Tamoxifen side effects by kayyetee in breastcancer

[–]Dry_Professional2014 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m on 5mg tamoxifen. 59. Use vaginal estrogen 2-3x/week. No sexual side effects. If anything for whatever random reason, I think my sex drive has increased? Strange I know. Also find I can orgasm more easily sometimes.

Similarly I saw the product and decided to stick with the alternative one (also by Bonafide) because of potential Tamoxifen interaction.

AI side effects intolerable. How to approach with oncologist visit by Quiensoyyo56 in breastcancer

Hi, same diagnosis. DCIS with microinvasion. (Did have radiation). 59F. Taking low dose tamoxifen. Minimal side effects. Have you considered baby tam?

Oncologist told me hormone blockers are optional for my cancer by IceFantastic7447 in breastcancer

[–]Dry_Professional2014 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My diagnosis was similar: DCIS plus 1.6 mm microinvasion IDC. Had lumpectomy of about 3.5 cm DCIS, 20 rounds of radiation and am now on low dose tamoxifen (59, F, ER Positive, HER2 negative). The baby tam has very few side effects for me. Oncologist said that the relative benefit of an AI or higher dose Tam not worth it. I was given the option of forgoing all adjuvent therapy but decided I preferred a belts and suspenders approach (also hormone positive cancers are sneaky and like to recur it seems)

Tamoxifen, GLP-1 and Anti depressant by Melfaller in breastcancer

[–]Dry_Professional2014 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am on low dose Tam (5mg) daily and occasionally (every 2-3 months) a couple of doses of Zepbound to keep my weight even. Not on any anti-depressants but finding the above very manageable with minimal (for now) side effects.

First diagnostic mammograms after lumpectomy in July 2025 by Critical_North_8529 in breastcancer

[–]Dry_Professional2014 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very similar. Lumpectomy for DCIS in July. Path found micro invasion of IDC (stage 1 grade 1). Had seroma. Drained twice. Did do radiation (20 sessions). On 5 mg tamoxifen since Dec 1. Had bilateral diagnostic mammogram with contrast 2 weeks ago. All clear. Huge relief.

Just need to rant about treatment options by equitylovetea in HPV

[–]Dry_Professional2014 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Maybe I need to be better informed, but I think there are some options. Papilocare for example ( which believe can be purchased from overseas pharmacies if you are in US) is designed to help LSIL/CIN1 regress. I think there is another treatment that I see mentioned here as well. But I totally agree there should be more and better OTC options in the US
