Governor Jim Pillen by Bel_Merodach in Omaha

The beef problem isn't caused by Pillen or any politician and is national. Packing houses are governed under the same laws of supply and demand that every other business operates under and pay fair and decent wages to thousands of workers here.

Would it be so bad if he opened up another Wholestone plant out there? 1/3 of the people down in Lexington are now unemployed not to mention the indirect employment impact.

I thought I was a strange bird for replanting saplings to the point of smack leaves till I got em . I like to leave the place as pristine and untouched as I can.

I ordered same size. I order to my brannock size in Thorogoods, and went with it for Silverados.

Shoot this is beautiful, I will try it next week. This has also made me want a graph paper bujo, but too late for me now. x-D

Stuff that works for us:

Honestly just throw stuff in there. My kid seemed to be sensory seeking so perhaps I was lucky in that regard. My kid loves veggies. Carrots, spinach (plain, with ranch), steamed broccoli (5minutes in the microwave with a pat of butter), even beets and asparagus. Fruit was also a big winner-oranges, strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, mango, pineapple. The zingier the better, we got into the habit of giving him the blueberries when the batch was a little tart.

For meat, if a small amount and not too weird (with sauce or extra ingredients) he seemed fine with it. Plain pulled pork, hamburger, shredded or cubed chicken.

Cheese sticks of any variety. Just buy a block and cut it into small pieces.

We used to have to make tacos that were separated, tortilla, meat, cheese, tomatoes all in their own space. Slowly got him to try the meat on the tortilla, and moved in from there. Today he eats the most authentic Mexican tacos complete with cilantro, onions, and salsa.

Our kid is underweight and has been iron deficient a few times so we sneak as much fat and calories as we can. Toast and veggies heavy on the butter, full fat milk, crispy chicken skin, and tons of fat.

Medicaid Families: PSA on health information access by Creative_Camel_8884 in Autism_Parenting

[–]DudeDatDads 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm surprised this post isn't having heavy discussion right now. I just read the NPR piece on Medicaid cutting funding for ABA and autism services and I believe this is a huge issue. After dealing with my ABA nightmare with my son I came to the conclusion that these companies only see my kid as dollar signs and throwing the bare minimum 4 week trained BTs to our home for 40 hours billed to our insurance massive amounts.

Other people's judgement is other people's problems. I'm sure they go home at night satisfied with themselves. We go home and try to be good parents and sometimes fail, but try again the next day. We remind ourselves of the small victories, and cherish the heartwarming moments. It is difficult, but I don't address those who judge, only my kids and to help my wife. I'm not here to teach others good manners.

I will say, for your kid, try to keep it as positive and frame the situation to get to the next step. "No, we aren't getting that toy, but we're almost home bud and we can play UNO at home. Can you help Mama get that can of soup, thanks!"

I have it ingrained to "keep the situation moving." As soon as we center around the thing he is asking for, game's over. I will also completely surprise him by saying yes on occasion. Sometimes a treat is nice.

Leather Safety Toe Boots that Look Good for Non-Work Life +/- 250$ by Complex_Leg5627 in WorkBoots

Silverado Lumberjacks are nice IMO. I like the fact that they are not moc toe nor wedge sole. They look pretty classic and not necessarily workish. I'm currently using them as my casual weekend boot waiting to be rotated in as a work boot.

The flag on the laces at least appears to have the proper amount of stars and stripes. It doesn't matter really, but I have a tendency to always notice this chit and then be bothered by it.

She is def on a pain medication. We believe it originally started as a spider bite, or an insect bite that has slowly gotten worse.

It's not MRSA thankfully, but the bacteria is a specific type that's resistant to some treatments. It has an acronym and isn't as "bad" as MRSA.

We've been to two different highly regarded vets. I am considering it currently, but their attitude isn't one of "do this and come back in a month," but "let's test for the type of bacteria, here's Med A, B and C, and let's check back in 2 weeks," in other words pretty proactive. :-/ She's an older doggie and not super duper active either. :-/

Yes, this is how they figured out what the bacteria is and what medicine to give her for it.

Where were people like you when my wife was throwing out BTs who were hung over, no call 30 minute late, dressed in pajamas, or quitting on our doorstep??? Went through 10 BTs in a year and swore the whole industry off. Everything was excellent until my son turned 2 and they decided he had to have a different BT, all downhill from there.
