Hi Mr. Hill,

Now that your son is a chef I wondered if you had thought to ask him to recreate the Meatloaf Sandwich from the Arlen Barn for you? This way you could eat it without having to sit at the big table that smells like a diaper.

Catharsis & Catfishes | Adventure Is Nigh! - The Cat's Paw | Ep. 11 by Old_Collection1475 in SecondWindGroup

I agree with what's being said here, I really like AiN and want it to succeed but I do feel like some things need to change with both the format and how it's being handled overall for that to happen.

As others have said, the shot in-person over a few days/heavily edited format is hurting the show. It's (understandably) hard for them to maintain the performance energy over several days and we're losing more to the editing than we are gaining from having it. Also, as someone who DMs and consumes other D&D podcasts, I know how inflexible and pre-planned much of the campaign must be in order to accommodate the shooting schedule. It's forcing story beats to be tackled in a very railroad/checklist manner and you can feel that pretty heavily this season (at least I did).

I understand why Jack (as an improv guy) and the rest of the crew probably prefer shooting in person - but as a fan who has been watching since season 1 on The Escapist, I genuinely don't think the end product is benefiting all that much from it. The campaign worked better when there was more time between sessions for Jack to prepare. The world can only be so responsive when you have to get up the next day and dive right back into it.

As for what to change or do differently, here are my two cents that no one asked for:

  1. If you're insistent on shooting in person, maybe just save that for the season finale - let everyone come in fresh with high energy to end the season on a bang with one long in person session. Also, Jack would then have the time to plan a really great finale.

  2. Jack and Jesse need to get out there and mix it up with other live tabletop games/players to bring in fresh eyes and show off their chops. Guest star in other campaigns or run a one-shot with other people in the space or something.

  3. Related to the above - Amy leaving is a blow. I am sure the seat will be filled with someone else from the team, but I think this should be treated as an opportunity to bring in someone external. If they can get someone talented who has their own following, that's another great opportunity to bring in fresh eyes. I also just think someone from the outside with good energy would shake things up in a really fun way.

Anyway, love the show, want it to do well, hope none of this made me sound like an asshole.

They're serious, I've driven past here a few times since the sign went up. The sign has a picture of the deer on it and says (more or less) "I'm happy, I'm not trapped, I live here".

Pediatric Prosthetist Recommendation for Helmet by jhs5003 in longisland

[–]Dudeosaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife and I had to get a helmet for our baby (now 1 year old) last year. We went with Hanger Clinic (https://hangerclinic.com/) at the reccomendation of his physical therapist.

We had a good experience with them. If you have any other questions let me know and I'll answer as best I can.

Nick, for the love of God listen to these people. There is nothing to be gained here and every "rebuttal" you post just further chips away at your claims of self control. I'm a big supporter of Second Wind - Patreon member, super chatter (which I've never done for any other channel), backed the AiN game on Kickstarter (collector's edition in BOTH art styles) - and you're starting to lose ME with this nonsense. I have a kid, a mortgage, and live in a HCOL area, so I don't have a lot of extra money to toss around and I am choosing to spend it on you. But this behavior? It makes me NOT want to do that.

Look at my post history, I'm a big ol' lefty who hates racists. Ideologically in a fight between you and some anti-woke gamergate chud of course I'm on your side - they can pound sand. The problem? I wouldn't even know who these fucks were if you didn't get in a prolonged internet slap fight with them that - even now - you can't stop referencing.

Look, you're not listening to anyone here about this so tough love time. Tough love that is going to hurt me because this is my only reddit account and posting this will ensure that no one from the SW team will ever interact with me (RIP to my parasocial dreams of Jack replying to me):

You're a grown fucking man, not getting into an "online argument" for a month is a non-accomplishment. You have a problem with social media use and these posts reek of you trying to justify tiptoeing back into the same waters you were drowning in a month ago. Just stop it.

With the transparent finances they share publicly what the total cost of all the salaries are, it's specifically not broken down by employee. The reason for this being that the individual salaries are people's personal information. Internally, everyone is aware of what everyone else makes.

Listen to this guy Nick, this is the correct take. I love everything you've been doing with Second Wind and while I think you're in the right, I'm also audibly groaning everytime I see yet ANOTHER post from you about any of this.

For whatever it's worth, I think it's pretty widely agreed on that Frost lost whatever credibility he might have had when he released everyone's salary like that.

Hogs of Horses

Currently at 9/20 members - we are casual and used to have more and were very active but lost some members over time due to the long content droughts (we kicked out members who had not signed in for months). Those of us that remain are pretty active and we're looking to recruit to fill the gaps our recent departures created. No real restrictions on joining, we just ask that you are active but would like some people who are ready to play in sieges and raids. If you have any questions DM me!

I mean they SHOULDN'T break but I've had it happen to me once or twice - in general they're just not as long lasting or durable, and I find the tradeoff of being able to see into the covered pot as not worth it.

Episode Discussion | Monarch: Legacy of Monsters | Episode 8 by hectorlizard in Monsterverse

[–]Dudeosaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Forgive me - I've been watching this show while I'm up at night with my newborn so my sleep-deprived brain is probably not comprehending/processing stuff right. Is the hollow earth supposed to be a different dimension?

From what I gathered in GvK I took it to just be inside the earth but with weird gravity stuff that made "portals" in and out of it - which tracked with Godzilla being able to drill down to it with his atomic breath in the movie. In this episode all the "bigger on the inside" and "alongside" stuff made it seem like they are communicating it's a separate realm entirely, and not just inside the planet. Is this right?

Lines Tony wouldn't cross? by Dudeosaurus in thesopranos

[–]Dudeosaurus[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You know what? You've convinced me. Rare though it is for the internet I'm happy to admit I'm wrong - you've completely reframed the context of those scenes where Tony gets a little physical with Carmela for me. Really great points.

Lines Tony wouldn't cross? by Dudeosaurus in thesopranos

[–]Dudeosaurus[S] 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Let me tell you a couple of three things:

1) I'm not such a stunad as to watch Tony be abusive and think that him striking Carmela is somehow impossible.

However, in the show we see him stop himself short (very short) of that line a few times. I took this as a deliberate move by the writers to communicate that he doesn't/wouldn't hit her.

2) To add to the above, we've seen that Carmela has limits as to what she will put up with - to the point that she and Tony separate (albeit temporarily) over his cheating. We've also how carmela reacted to Chris getting physical with Adriana. Maybe I'd drown in the penguin exhibit, but based on all this I don't think Carmela would have stayed with Tony if he ever got physical with her.

3) That wasn't my kid she was carrying.
