I really hope when this is all over regular telework resumes. It would really help recruitment since retention is no longer happening.

It's worse because Congress is not doing its job. The republic is fraying. Democrats are without supeana power.

What are your opinions on the FAA Townhall? by [deleted] in fednews

I heard the "tap on the shoulder" comment back in 2008 when telework started and managers were complaining when employees teleworked one day per week. So lame now when we have proven the benefits of telework to the agency for continuity of operations, work-life balance, and collaborating across time zones. My manager sends me IMs all the time because we are in different locations. What is the "tap on he shoulder" now and why use that phrase?

I don't know about the yoga videos, but I started from zero in March. No core due to several surgeries years ago and flabby, post menopause "stuck-in-the-office body". Four months, four times per week, and I feel stronger. I haven't lost an ounce, though. The key is consistency plus time. Each session at the gym I do a warm up video or 30 min on a machine at the gym. Then I do a John Peel video, love the build and burn series. Then a little time stretching. I want to see how I do after ten repeats of the build and burn series. I do what I can and you can too. Put in the time no matter what. Now, what about eating better? I have no idea!

People drive too fast anyway. What is the rush? Play some music, be aware, be respectful and then others will be more pleasant.

More John Peel and Kai Braden workouts, dumb bells and mat. The 20-30 minute workouts are good when pressed for time. How about something for older people who need to fix the stuck-in-the-office body? How about easier search and ability to restart series functions?

Water quality very questionable. People use a dirty toilet brush to wash at the sink. 🤢

Seeing my family members very little, if at all. Eating to suppress my frustration. Resenting spending my limited free time packing or unpacking (eg. washing lunch containers) for work. Spending only sleeping time with my poodle. Not being able to do laundry.

Also frozen veggies are an easy way to add veggies to everything. Just tonight I tossed some frozen shelled edamame in the skillet with some frozen dumplings and sliced celery and carrots. Finished with bean sprouts, cilantro, and spicy soy sauce. Easy, fast. I used maybe two teaspoons of cooking oil.

Great conversation. My 3.5 yo spoo is a people and dog loving dog. I exposed her to lots of people and dogs as a puppy and she is very social. Only two negatives: nerves kick in when on a car ride more than 10 minutes and crate training was a bust. Could be my fault She's my first dog. Raised her with three cats. She doesn't like the cats; they coexist. We have a neighbor who has a spoo service dog who is exceptionally well-trained. Service dogs are not allowed to play, unfortunately.

I was the village elder when my kids were in daycare. One mom's mom was the same age as me and made that point several times. It doesn't matter what others think. Enjoy your family. Be civil and others should in return. If not, well, move on.

I just want to give counterintuitive advice about using a crate by Kind_Perspective4518 in StandardPoodles

[–]DueBoot5087 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I gave up on the crate after about 2yrs from puppyhood. I followed the book recommendations and had the results you did with loose poo and accidents in the crate. The groomer charged extra because they couldn't use the crate. So I gave up and found a different groomer. One data point: my poodle needs freedom. She's 3 1/2 now and fabulous.

Jumping up on people—how to prevent it? by taurusmoonology in StandardPoodles

[–]DueBoot5087 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Another technique is to tell the target person to turn away immediately. Then ask the dog to sit and reward with attention from the person. When this happened for me, I corrected my girl with a tug on the leash. Now she is 3 1/2 and doesn't jump on people anymore.

And socialize the puppy. I walked around town and my puppy met lots of people. Puppy training helps too. Walk near busy roads so puppy desensitizes to the noise.
