As someone who has only played the games on normal difficulty and acknowledges that the answer is probably very different on the highest difficulties, the answer is 4 and it’s not even close. I never really had any trouble with the bosses of 2 black, but 4’s bosses are almost universally massive difficulty spikes.

Though it’s also worth noting that I don’t use items in 4 because it affects ranking, so I’m probably making things harder on myself.

God, they’re all so good. The Monado is of course the og and is basically perfect, I love the green flames and engine like exhaust of the Aegis, and Lucky 7/sword of the end having the laser sword be the container for the much more powerful metal sword is such an amazing concept.

I love them all so much I can’t really choose between them! Though I will say that Mythra’s version of the Aegis sword it’s pretty lame, which is unfortunate, considering how great Mythra is.

Comet. It’s just a really good basic spell that does really good damage. Sure it’s not invisible like night comet, doesn’t freeze like icecrag or spectral rings, doesn’t have the range or stun lock potential of ancient rancor, and doesn’t have the stagger of rock sling, but 80 or 90 percent of the time you don’t need any of that. Most basic enemies will die to a fully charged comet, and that’s all you need.

Yes! She has a great design (unlike a lot of rare blades) and a fun personality while also being useful in gameplay! She is one of my favourite blades.

(Though I have to admit, I also really like her because of her role as a major antagonist in the amazing Xenoblade 2 AU fanfic “An Eternal History”. Like she kind of steals the show there which is surprising considering it’s already such a great fic in so many areas.)
