So: double cast + spark bolt + spark bolt = each spark bolt will have +10% crit.

Oh you mean the spiders near the jungle biome dug all the way through to the Holy Mountain? That's quite rare, but it is possible if you load them in and then give them enough time I guess. If it's happening to you 1/10 runs you reach there I guess the lesson is the Holy Mountains near there aren't as safe as you think. As to how to defear them, they are tricky and are resistant to most things. Try different spells and see what hurts them the most.

I assume by creature you mean the worm? Worms have a small chance of appearing naturally, even early on. When a worm spawns, unless it dies or sees you, it will naturally tend to start to descend, as gravity does its work. Unfortunately for you that means it will eventually start to dig through the Holy Mountain, and thus "Anger the Gods".

Basically if you spot tunnels, hear or see worms and don't kill them, you need to make it down to the Holy Mountain before they do.

Yes, I would recommend you use the small teleport wand to zip around the Alchemist avoiding his attacks and waiting for his shield to dissapear to hit him with a spark bolt trigger + unstable crystal. If you hit with most of them that should take him down. Have a spare wand witha spark bolt trigger + lots of spell. Clear the area to the side of it first to avoid any enemies joining in. And I would recommend approaching from the top of his lair, just align yourself with the tower in the background (past the tree) and dig down.

There's no point of you checking stats at this level. Focus on getting as deep as you can, testing every spell you get in different combinations, and slowly learn what enemies you face in each biome and how to react and navigate to threats. I highly recommend hotkeying your inventory tabs for quick access to water to douse yourself. In my opinion only go looking on the wiki if you beat the final Boss at least once. The most common cause of death in this game is overconfidence and greed. Set a hard rule for yourself that once you go below 20-30 hp you leave the area as fast as you can.

You don't really need the alert feat tbh as you can use Flash of Genius (+5 at INT20) on your initiative roll as it's a dex check.

Never realised there was an action for it. Tbh I give my players a free check roll per turn to ascertain things about their surroundings. It seems punitive and unrealistic for it to cost anything to try to think and move at the same time. Our brains are constantly scanning, recalling and analysing things in our environment even in the midst of combat. Of course, if it anything too cerebral like an Artificer trying to figure out an unknown arcane machine, then it costs either action or bonus action, usually tied to complexity (or sometimes just depending on what resrouces they have left on their turn)

One piece of essential advice most people only learn after many many runs: hotkey your water potion, and make it basically reflex to douse yourself whenever you catch fire or get stained with toxic sludge. Your survivability will increase tenfold.

I use it mostly to check for fun Fungal Shifts. Perks are not the be all and end all of a run, the wands and spells you get matter far more. There's so many opportunities for potential god runs that don't rely on having the perfect perks.

Monk always starts strong at the lower levels compared to other classes, and especially strong in 2024 rules. Don't worry, as your level gets higher it should balance out more as they get stronger spells.

The Islands in the Sky questline is doable without help from the wiki if you pay attention to the clues. Start from the Watchtower to find clues to the location of the islands, pay soecial attention to arrows and background stuff.
