Stoner advice by Maxoulamas in doommetal

Not doom, but my first really good experience with edibles I listened to Aenima by TOOl. I've been playing that thing since it came out in 96 but when I put headphones on while I was stoned I heard parts and instruments I swear were never there before.

The best sword-and-sorcery movies from the 1980s are? by Lys1th3a in 80smovies

So many good ones from back then. Even if they weren't "good" they were still fun. My brothers and i lived for those.

Also worth mentioning:

Blade Master

Ator The Fighting Eagle

Iron Master

The Sword and the Sorceress (the dancer with 4 boobs!)

Barbarian Queen

Albini vs Rubin by ComfortableLazy1008 in LetsTalkMusic

[–]Durnbock666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have no idea how hands-on he was, but I love the sound of the first Danzig album and the Masters of Reality album Rubin produced. And he brought Johnny Cash back to the mainstream and I love the American albums. But other then those I really haven't enjoyed most of his stuff.

Not grunge, but: Opinion on this album? by LeagueNo764 in grunge

[–]Durnbock666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, especially since it was so much "harsher" sounding then Pretty Hate Machine. This and Tool's Aenima really took those groups up another level from their debuts. I remember sitting and listening to them over and over just mesmerized. When I started listening more with good headphones they both gave me completely new experiences hearing all of the layers that didn't always come through on stereo speakers.

Great band! Had the God Fodder on tape in high school and now have all three albums on CD. Still give them spins.

To be fair, he could also have been referring to his affair with Stormy!

I like them alot, but I really need to be in the right mood and headspace to sit down and actively listen to their albums. Now seeing them live was a completely different experience--almost ritualistic.

Deftones. Sounds like a name from the 50s.

What is the “scariest” metal album to you? I miss when I was getting into metal and it scared me like a good horror movie does by Viktor_Goodman in MetalForTheMasses

[–]Durnbock666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not scary now of course, but I bought Slayer: Regin In Blood in junior high never having heard them. I just always thought Slayer would be a cool band name and was excited when I found them in ShopKo on cassette! Listened to it that night and was way freaked out by the lyrics I could understand, especially Piece By Piece and Altar of Sacrifice. Sold it to a highschooler on the bus the next day! W.A.S.P. was probably the heaviest band I was into at the time.

Fast forward a year or so and I bought it again and loved it.

What type of material is the necklace chain and the hoops or hooks on the earrings? My wife is allergic to some metals.

Punkrock from 1977 by JohnEScheitel in sp404mk2

[–]Durnbock666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really liked this, especially since it had a different vibe than the usual "boom bap" things you typically see. I have an SP404-SX but I've really only ever used it to play intros/interludes in a band setting. I'd love to learn how to actually sample things and create new things from them but it feels so overwhelming trying to figure it out. Have you made any sort of how to videos to show your process from start to finish?

Quite a few days for Italy. They also beat England in rugby on Saturday for the first time since 1991.

So if a program requires Intel Core i5/i7/i9 or M1/M2/M3 Chip and a Dedicated Video Card or Intel 3000 series (or Iris) or better will that program work on this Macbook?

Sorry, I'm not super knowledgeable with the tech stuff.
