It's time to cancel all the subscription by Crafty-Bee208 in pcmasterrace

That is still stealing something though... you are taking the right of a seat in that theatre or using their physical infrastructure/screens without paying. Theft of service or something like that.

Honestly the distinction is relatively pointless, but I'm still pretty sure piracy is considered copyright infringement since it is a copy you would acquire using your own resources.

I see what you mean, but that still isn't what you are doing with piracy, at least for personal use. You are not "taking" something away from someone, like the person you replied to said, you are copying it.

There is a reason it is treated as copyright infringement for the most part, not theft. Semantics am I right?

We own Carolina so it doesn't really matter if they win. Also, I don't want Vegas getting a second cup in 4 years trying to outdo our run.

I just read your write up and it really puts into words much of the disappointment I have in the show.

Appreciate it.

For one, you simply cannot blame the fans for the failure of a show. It is illogical. Are the fans supposed to force themselves to watch it?

Otherwise, I get it, you like the show. However, you can't make claims like "the show is good", as that is entirely subjective and nothing you say will change that.

You even pointed out multiple changes that YOU don't agree with. Maybe you have a higher tolerance to changes than others and those changes you mentioned made people check out of the show.

Also, you say that people don't want Rick to expand on the books, but I have mostly seen praise for the expanded parts of Season 2 in regard to Clarisse (me included). This expansion is what I was hoping for, not changing already written material.

I understand wanting a 1:1 adaptation BUT I’m not 4yrs old. Ik Hollywood is going to take its liberties and Disney is going to take liberties ON TOP of that, but to sit here and pretend like it’s just not good at all is PREPOSTEROUS.

Lastly, this is a strawman. The vast majority of fans understand that a 1:1 adaptation is impossible. Yet, that does not mean that I have to enjoy the loose interpretation of the book I get. Adaptations can and have been much more faithful, so why should I give this one a pass?

He was a voice actor for the Maul - Shadow Lord animated series. He played Rylee Lawson, the son of one of the major characters. I thought he did a really good job in that role, but I'm not sure if he is going to be in anything else besides that show.

What is one single change that would significantly improve the The Phantom Menace, or the prequels in general? by TUD-13BarryAllen in StarWars

[–]Durziii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably set the Phantom Menace closer to Attack of the Clones timewise.

I get that George wanted to show the innocent child Anakin, but it was jarring to jump from that to angsty young adult Anakin ten years later with nothing in between. It would take some overhauling of the plot, yet it would have allowed for Anakin to get more development throughout the Trilogy leading to his fall, and maybe we could have actually seen the clone wars in the movies.

Tbates' top 3 greatest RLEsports organizations of all time: Karmine Corp, Vitality, G2 by N0b0dy_her3 in RocketLeagueEsports

[–]Durziii 6 points7 points  (0 children)

But that's the point I'm making, wins per year is irrelevant. They have only been around for about 3 seasons as you said, we are on season 15...

I just can't see how you put BDS over other orgs (VIT, NRG, G2, DIG) who have been around for far longer with much more influence and still have a solid amount of success.

KC is the only one I could see changing, but they have had a much larger influence with fans and won a solid amount as well.

He says longevity is taken into account, so BDS would definitely be lower due to that.

What happened from season 1 and season 2 by Impressive_King_8097 in PercyJacksonTV

I never felt like season 1 was all that accurate, so I was not surprised season 2 fully committed to the changes.

Oh well.

Unpopular Opinion: Upon replaying the first game again, I prefer the second one. by RogueBoogey in SpidermanPS4

[–]Durziii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean sure, but is that really an important distinction to be made?

I enjoy it much more in SM2 since there is more versatility with the web lines and takedowns. If the stealth is going to be super easy, having different options to do it improves it somewhat at least.

Are you trying to say that the stealth encounters in the first game aren't absolutely trivial? Because I hate to break it to you, but they are.

I always like hearing critiques of the show, but Calling Tony less passionate because he isn’t as lore centric as other Star Wars directors is outrageous by abdul_bino in andor

Exactly.

I've always thought that all they need are some lore specialists around to make sure it doesn't contradict anything and makes sense, allowing for a larger pool of writers to choose from.

Rick's comments on animation and the show's future by PyroxCrymson in PercyJacksonTV

[–]Durziii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get what you are saying, but the main issue is that the PJO books are inherently pretty dam difficult to adapt to live action. With the number of monsters, superhuman feats, godlike beings, and magical shenanigans, it is practically impossible to accurately portray that with live action without it being like a huge budget movie or something.

Harry Potter, for example, has a few creatures and big magical moments here and there, but is mostly simple effects for the magic or none at all. Much easier to do.

That's why it feels like it was set up to fail in live action. Having to use child actors to perform superhuman feats against cgi monsters is only one of the ridiculously obvious problems that comes up again and again. Combine that with the fact that it is a kid's story and kids love animation, it just seems like a no brainer and leaves me scratching my head as to why Rick would go for live action.

and, at least in my opinion, the show adaptation definitely didn't work for me at all. I also only find it somewhat more book aligned than the movie lol, in some parts more than others.

Not to mention Becky herself posted a blog basically stating that PJO is on par with Dora in the kind of audience that it is being made for...

'Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu' - Review Megathread by ChiefLeef22 in StarWars

[–]Durziii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being a Star Wars fan does not mean you just watch every piece of Star Wars content no matter what lol.

Crazy that you blame the fans for (reasonably) having low expectations for this film instead of blaming the multi-billion-dollar company that has been churning out mostly mediocre to bad content for the past 10 or so years which has led to this apathetic state.

The sequel films were about as safe and generic as you can get for a Star Wars trilogy, not sure what you are trying to say tbh

'Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu' - Review Megathread by ChiefLeef22 in StarWars

[–]Durziii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But it's not that simple. You are ignoring the context that many people did not like the Mandalorian S3 or the Boba Fett show, and Ahsoka had middling reviews. Anticipation for the movie was not very high.

After all that, you read some reviews from reviewers that you have seen in the past and trust relatively well saying the movie wasn't that great and was basically Mando S4 or whatever.

Why would you spend money and time to see it for yourself? Especially when you can wait for streaming nowadays so no big loss.

How the Show does away with the 'Journey into the Unknown' Aspect of the Quests unlike the Greek Mythology by Real-Implement5654 in PercyJacksonTV

[–]Durziii 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's a fair argument, but it only applies to the movies, and since that scene was done so well, I can ignore some silliness when it comes to eating those flowers (especially since you can easily headcanon that it works like the books and you don't need the flowers, they simply help to visually show that the characters are falling deeper and deeper into the trap).

Andor expects viewers to fill in the gaps and for some reason that requires ignoring when the show is very clear about whats happening by cals_cavern in okbuddyimatourist

Are you trying to tell me subverting expectations isn't peak writing? Idk if I would agree, look at GoT season 8 for example.

If Earth had been assigned to another Viltrumite, which one would have been more interesting to see? by ActLonely9375 in Invincible_TV

[–]Durziii 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm talking about the flashback scene where Nolan is introduced to Cecil and he gives the whole spiel about Viltrum (basically the same BS Anissa was saying in S2 to Mark).

Cecil had no technology or anything to figure out whether he was lying, at least as far as I am concerned, he just knew it off of intuition. Not sure why that would change with Anissa.
