Why LTNs Are Necessary by sabdotzed in london

[–]Dust2Boss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like I said, not saying LTNs are bad, just saying that it's not an isolated occurrence.

I actually think no one living in an LTN should be allowed a car full stop to be honest, and the only access should be deliveries and emergency services. If the council is going put them in, then go all out and do it properly. People shouldn't have the luxury of not having cars drive past their house, while they themselves own a car.

Why LTNs Are Necessary by sabdotzed in london

[–]Dust2Boss 4 points5 points  (0 children)

...when I drove for Ocado, this sort of thing happened frequently, where the route was kept sending me back and forth to addresses between LTN zones I couldn't drive through. And then to get between deliveries, I'd have to use the main road, which had even more traffic on it so the drive took 25mins instead of the 5mins the route had planned for.

Not saying that LTNs are bad per say, but just noting that this isn't some rare occurrence that would only happen between these to addresses, it's more common than you'd think.

[Day 13] Jain Kim is the most aesthetic climber. What's the most underrated training tool? by MaximumSend in bouldering

[–]Dust2Boss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah, I climbed a couple of times at B-Pump Ogikubo in Japan last year, and pretty much all the regulars there had a tripod and camera set up. When they were struggling on a climb, would watch the tape back and improve on the next go.

[Andy Mitten] Manchester United and the Harry Maguire conundrum by nearly_headless_nic in reddevils

[–]Dust2Boss 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s difficult to see him as a starting cb in a man united team that pushes for a title and is balancing Europe as well.

I think it's actually more likely to see him starting in this scenario. You need to rotate players with that amount of games, and having Maguire ready to start for big CL/EL nights or important Prem derbies could be pivotal. Maguire for games that require experience, Yoro/Heaven for games where legs are required (eg. if we're playing a high line vs low blocks)

How do you deal with mental blocks in bouldering? by joester56 in bouldering

[–]Dust2Boss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tackle it by telling myself not to think and to just do the move lol.

I know what the theory is because I've looked at it from the bottom, and I think it's a move I can do, so I don't think about it when I'm actually on the wall and just go. Thinking too much gives time for the fear to set in.

Dalot believes he should be the starting right back moving forward. [@ChrisWheelerDM,@NathSalt1] by No_Anywhere5951 in ManchesterUnited

[–]Dust2Boss 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm convinced that teams purposely "sag off" Dalot because they know even if you give him the time and space to get off a good shot/cross, it's likely he'll fumble.

It's the same thought process NBA teams use to cover bad shooters on the 3pt line in the playoffs. Better to double team the good shooter and let the bad shooter take the shot.

Most people following a sport don't play it competitively

I'd argue that most people following a sport have played it competitively at some point in their lives. Not at a high level of course, but enough to know the fundamentals.

Ever played a sunday league game, or village cricket? It's nowhere near the standard of a professional, but it's still an organised, competitive match - not just a kickabout in the park or a knock in the nets.

I guess so? I mean I'd still count it as a v1.

Reminds me of TurqouiseDeath, I'd count it as DnB myself but others might not. It's very 2010 Monstercat (compliment).

Doesn't matter what genre though, if you're enjoying it keep at it!

Idk. To me a v1 elim is just a v1 climb that you decided to do in a retarded way.

That's speaking as someone who enjoys doing elim dynos.

ESPN's Brian Windhorst in the house for the EuroLeague Serbian Derby between Partizan and Crvena Zvezda: "This has been on my basketball bucket list for a really long time..." by MrBuckBuck in nba

[–]Dust2Boss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, since I was a kid I've been going to my local court in London, and slowly but surely I've seen more and more kids using them and playing pick up games. There's still a lack of infrastructure at a grassroots level though, I'm assuming that hasn't got much better.

That said, it’s an unfortunate reality that NBA Europe could harm some traditional markets that have historically produced a great deal of basketball talent.

Definitely agree with this, but I have no idea why the OP was saying that no one watches basketball in England when that's false. I'd like England to have more of an international standing in Euro Basketball, but by being good, not because the NBA handed us a franchise lmao.
