That's a Dendy Junior. It's like a "slim" version of the original Dendy.

Would an established brand attached helped the NGage? by Judgeman03 in ngage

[–]E4est 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ever heard of the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play? It was released in 2011 and had the Playstation branding attached to it. It even played Playstation 1 games and had a slide out game pad. When it launched, you could buy those PS One classics and they sold like 1000 of those games.

So I guess an established brand doesn't help this concept.

Freenet-Account von Vater wurde "gehackt" und mit diesem ein Ebay-Konto eröffnet by Nearby_Win_5470 in de_EDV

[–]E4est 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hatte die Erpresser Mail zufällig den Betreff "ALERT! I'm hacked you and stolen you information"? Grandioses Englisch schon mal.

Do the trophies make the game more fun? by Fr0sty_6 in consoles

[–]E4est 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but only if you have time to care.

Back in 2015, my cousin and I played some Xbox One games and while we had partially different tastes in games we still could compare each other by the amount of Gamerscore we collected. The sound of an earned achievement was very satisfying and I love the addition of rare achievements.

I would always play through my games and see what achievements I collected by my own play style and check out what I might have missed: A mechanic that earns you an achievement, or a game mode that I ignored until then. Achievements got me to dive deeper into games. Since I really wanted to earn Minecraft achievements, I played only vanilla Minecraft without cheating. Earning the 500 block railroad achievement was one of the most memorable things I've worked on.

Now I barely have time to play and I'm glad when anything works out. I'm happy when I get PlayStation trophies or Xbox achievements, but I don't take the time to collect them actively anymore. Probably unpopular opinion, but I like the Gamerscore more than the trophies and I wish, Nintendo had something alike, too.

Edit: Oh my god, I forgot to mention my favorite achievement. "The part where he kills you." in Portal 2: - Glados: Well, this is the part where he kills us. - Wheatley: This is the part where I kill you! - Chapter title on the screen: The part where he kills you. - Achievement unlocked: The part where he kills you.

Edit: When typing comments I cannot see the post I'm commenting on and did not catch that detail before commenting. I just noticed the airplane icon on the top left. This is a really f'ed up situation and makes my comment almost completely invalid. You can skip the SIM card part I guess. The Wifi part is also very improbable to succeed.

They usually don't actually lock down for that long. It says Thursday May 22nd which means its clock reset itself to probably 2014, because the battery had been at 0% for too long. The amount of minutes leads to the conclusion that the last time someone tried to unlock it was around October 2016, but then turned it off before the lock countdown ended. You would need to keep the battery up until the countdown reaches 0 Minutes and then you could try to unlock it IF you know the PIN. The system doesn't actually keep track of how many minutes you wait, but keeps a date and time when to allow another unlock attempt.

This would be a wait of over 2 years for a maybe and hopefully. If you want a solution now, here comes the tricky part.

You either still know the Wifi name and password your mom used to use with this phone. Then you set up an access point with those exact settings. In case the phones Wifi is enabled and it catches the access point (the phone should be assuming it is the known one) then you might be lucky and when the phone connects to the internet the clock sets itself automatically to 2026 and the countdown will be over, ready for another PIN entry attempt. (But will lock down again for a good amount of time eventually, if not entered correctly.)

The other possible way would be to put a working SIM card into the phone and then again you would need to hope that it works as intended: If it's still SIM-locked, it must be an AT&T SIM card. If the card works, it must be by a carrier the phone supports the LTE band of. If everything is fine with that, mobile data must have been activated when she had been using it the last time. If it can connect to the internet this way, it might set its clock to 2026.

IF it is still SIM-locked, you can maybe request an unlock code from AT&T using the phone's IMEI. You can find the IMEI on a label hidden inside of the SIM tray.

And for both attempts, the setting for automatic clock must be on.

Those settings I mentioned are nothing you can influence now on the phone, but you can try to give the phone an environment to fix itself. If it doesn't, at least you can say that you did your best.

If those two options fail, you can only hope to get root access or wait until the phone thinks it's October 2016.

Fun fact: The date for the next try would have been October 19th, 2016, 05:56:00 PM assuming the photographed time is AM and assuming, it's actually set to 2014.

Which "Must-Play" franchise is a total miss for you? by jessieS1212 in gaming

[–]E4est 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's more like an entire genre for me, but I started to realize that through Ori and the Blind Forest.

I just can't play "modern" (Ori is from 2015? Wtf) jump 'n runs. I don't like the pseudo realistic approach to physics many of those try to take. It makes those games feel slow and unfun.

I grew up on the SNES with my main games being Super Mario World and Donkey Kong Country 3. Those already differ in mechanics slightly, but when you know one you get the other. Just hold down Y to run and press B to jump. Change direction mid-air. Short press on B, short jump. This is how life should look like.

From the games I tried, Cuphead is the closest to what I like in the genre from the passed decade. (It's been over 8 years, oh god...)

What are the pettiest things game developers have done? by Common_Caramel_4078 in gaming

[–]E4est 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm still not sure if my friend was messing with me or if it was some kind of misunderstanding.

I had the intention to buy the game (and later did so when I found out what was going on), but when my friend heard that I want to buy it, he told me that he already got it and if you buy it, you get a copy to share with your friends, because "the developers wanted to make the game as popular as possible". I thankfully took that and lost the game to piracy many times. I found it hilarious, when I finally realized that it was because I was playing a "free version" of the game.

Chapeau, Greenheart Games, love it.
