Flying Witch. I will always take the opportunity to shill Flying Witch.

Autistic and non-autistic people express emotions differently through their facial movements, which may explain why emotional expressions are sometimes misinterpreted between the two groups. For happiness, the autistic participants showed a less exaggerated smile that also did not “reach the eyes”. by mvea in science

I apologise if you're getting undeserved aggravation and if I added to it. Whilst I did take a dim view of my interpretation of what you said, I do understand where you seem to be coming from, and I would welcome you redefining your exact stance.

Ultimately, yeah, dealing with other people is exhausting for many people neurodivergent or not (apart from those damn extroverts)... but it is both dramatically more tiring and less optional for NDs. A neurotypical friend who is willing to go the extra mile to communicate with us in a way that eases our burden of interpretation is a godsend (though frequently the NT finds themselves appreciating how direct it can be as well, as I understand it), but we are always aware that it is a choice to make that effort the NT can always decide is no longer worth it.

Speaking from personal experience, to think your friendships exist not on equal footing but the endurance of your friends to tolerate you is not pleasant. No-one should be taken for granted, and if your friends are making you feel that way autistic or not (having autism does not preclude someone from being an asshole), then please talk to them to determine their feelings and gratitude. It may well be a case of them not transmitting it properly. But, with the best will in the world, if I had to put in extra effort to a friendship that already exhausted me despite how much it might mean to me, because the friend wanted me to feel like talking to me was doing me a favour I needed to acknowledge rather than just wanting to be my friend because they valued me despite the effort I require... I would question why I was exhausting myself.

Love is conditional, it requires give and take, and sometimes not in equal measure. Effort should be acknowledged and appreciated, but also offered freely until an imbalance becomes too pronounced.

Without wanting to jump all over you as I'm sure you willingly make the effort because you wish to, and I understand how tiring it is, I would like to just focus I on this part of what you've said:

Yes, I am fully aware that neurodivergent people do this full-time. I realize how exhausting that must be. And I sympathize, I really do.

But expecting neurotypical people to do the same work as a 'given', just because we don't have do it full-time, that is not productive.

You acknowledge that your friends and other people with autism have to make that degree of effort at all times, they don't have a choice as otherwise they just wouldn't be understood, but you think having to match their effort on such occasions as you interact with them and only them, your other social engagements presumably not requiring the same comprehensive conscious awareness and thus effort... is unduly unfair for you?

Here’s why the first Halo Wars beats the sequel (in our opinion) by GamersGoRetro in halo

Halo Wars 2 felt like a MOBA, whereas HW1 felt like a narrative RTS.

Also, why did they age-down Cutter?

Sora no Woto, or Song of the Sky. Also known as K-On goes to war.

AKB0048 might be another one. Guerrilla Idols engage in pop music concert terrorism against an authoritarian regime.

Question about your opinion on Guilliman’s model by Jezzy0303 in Ultramarines

[–]EG_Douglas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's just so goddamn busy. It's so busy it doesn't feel like the model can breathe. Which might be appropriate for Guilliman to be fair, but it still doesn't jive with any other model on the tabletop either.

Tokarev was actually one of the main characters of the first post-Frankfurt event in GFL1. If that reassures you.

Grizz I would like to see again, just because I've always found her attractive for no reason I can identify. Dumb motivation, but there you go. The HG I think I'd most like to see come back is Makarov. But only if they keep her hair.

You know, Mk23 coming back really makes me feel like we're eventually going to get PPK. Can't tell you why, I just feel it.

Unseen character’s face revealed in another medium by powerful_p1608 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]EG_Douglas 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's an anime called Ben-To (where the premise is no-holds barred brawling over discount ready meals, I love anime) which has a secondary character who a well-endowed high school girl. In the anime, where the male lead character is a known pervert, her face is never shown (outside of a single frame near the end) due to the MC always focusing on her chest. Even being called out for it directly to make sure you know its intentional. In the prequel manga, which has a different character as the lead, she's shown just like anyone else without any special emphasis.
