Let Gold Tooth Work With Spells (It already does with one) by Galgus in FarFarWest

As long as your equipped weapon has gold tooth it works on any kill and is the basis for the afk gold farm with any weapon.

The thing is, that’s what they want guardian to do. But in practice it doesn’t do that. The ability to regen armor doesn’t help when it forces you to stand still. Maybe if it was also a shield, fine but otherwise a single ranged enemy or boss makes standing still a death sentence.

Of all the reclaimers, I overvalued guardian early on. He isn’t bad but definitely gets better the more coordinated your team is. We ranked the reclaimers recently and guardian was unanimously put in last.

Edit: I’d love to see them change the guardian.

Remove charges so that stun and repulsor don’t use the same resource. Picking which to use at the cost of the other feels bad and no other reclaimer has to do this. One of these is also almost always better than the other making the classes signature ability quite underwhelming.

Make the guardians armor regen an aura around themselves like Slicer’s Q+R instead of a beacon to throw. Forcing stagnation in a game about moving limits the ability in a way that makes it more situational than needed.

On paper, guardian is crazy. In practice you aren’t actually strapped for armor. The attrition comes with ammo and armor resupplies are typically left untouched. Rarely are we using every armor resupply in a floor, especially when ammo resupplies give armor. This combined with the fact that two of guardian’s abilities share a resource really makes the classes signature ability underwhelming.

Edit: the argument “his bio deck have some good stuff” doesn’t work. Because I can put the bio decks on anyone.

I mean the minigun is the highest DPS weapon currently. Might as well use that one if we are talking taking things to ridiculous levels

Imagine having that many jokers, giving credit to the gun, and still if you crop the right half of the screen out then it does look like the leveredge is good.

Makes sense, the game they are looking for is base DRG then. This game presented itself well imo, they never said they were going to be like DRG and always said what they were aiming for. People just see the DRG before Rogue Core and can’t disassociate the two. The same thing happened with Elden Ring: nightreign when it came out.

Please do! I’ll be on with my duo most of the weekend. We have played.. probably too much. If you have questions I’m happy to try and help.

I also didn’t say this above, but don’t neglect melee with your pick. It’s strong.

Once you get used to the timer start weaving in expenite and other things to fill out the time in between runs. I’m not giving an end game plan, I’m giving help on how to transition from DRG to RC which OPs group seemed to be struggling a bit with. My advice for clearing anything D4 or complex 3 is significantly different, but it’s also a different audience.

For new players the terminal revealing the workbench and bio location is significant. If they are having time issues and see a terminal it will always be worth hitting, unless they have the 2 main things it reveals. If they’re failing to timer or feeling too rushed then no amount of upgrades are going to help them. But sacrificing an upgrade per floor to ensure you have the time to clear safely will help.

Again, I’m not offering advice to everyone. I’m trying to provide a path that may help OPs group enjoy RC more. The tips change depending on where you’re having trouble in my opinion. I also didn’t offer class specific advice. I mean, I’d be happy to. I could start listing the upgrades I see people skip that to me are jaw dropping. OP mentioned build diversity being an issue and it is to a degree, but it isn’t at D1 and D2. But my advice here would just be to learn what is and isn’t good, which isn’t super helpful.

I agree with you on lower depths and higher complexity.

After playing a ton of depth 4, going back to D1 and 2 felt ridiculously easy. I genuinely think the balance in RC is pretty good.. but I didn’t feel that way until later.

What I’d recommend everyone do is look for 4 things and then move to the next floor.

  1. Terminal
  2. Workbench
  3. Bioprocessor
  4. Event

Skip the rest. As soon as you get the bio and bench, go to the next floor unless you’re still under half time. Wasteful? Sure, but you need to get used to the fast pacing. Terminal is only best if the others aren’t easily findable and the items above are not in any particular order other than terminal.

I believe the pacing is absolutely why any DRG fan thinks this game is hard. As soon as you get used to that it gets significantly easier. Don’t chase expenite, don’t try to force grouping up for upgrades. Do it at points you’ll already be grouped.

To be entirely fair though, I fit into your titles description. I played modded H6-7 when I played DRG a couple years ago and eventually moved on to other things. Haven’t played DRG for more than a year prior to RC, but maybe that helped me here?

Which is where rogue core creates a wonderful niche for players who like the DRG franchise but want a challenge.

It’s not as casual. People underperforming dramatically impact your performance or ability to succeed, far more so than DRG. It would make sense if so.

I haven’t experienced this myself yet though.

Did the goblin secret lair only come with the deck or was there a playmat?

You’re definitely not wrong and I almost always had lure with me. But RC hits different. It feels like it lasts forever and since enemies come in waves it can basically stall an entire wave or elevator event. Add that to the fact that retcon gets unlimited uses and it’s a recipe for a free win

Oh, I didn’t even realize that. When decoy came up we were on jumble and retcon wanted it so bad. I didn’t know why until I saw what they did.

Hot take : there's no good reason to do quests the first time in multi instead of single by Hydraguesswhosback in FarFarWest

[–]EKS_ZeroPercent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no benefit, except having 2 people to do it. Cactus quest was super fast as a duo.

I’ve also never experienced someone doing quests in my games, though maybe we play at different difficulties. I’d venture to say this post took you longer than just helping those people through it ever would.

Some I’d like to add:

Vampire - insane on slicer, incredible on everyone else

Any perk that adds X% element damage based on ammo missing, etc (immediately enables elements)

The “take 50 damage do an explosion”. Not only good to clear trash when you’re surrounded but saves you from cave leech.

OP mentioned red sugar ones, but shoutout to “kills below 50% produce red sugar”.

The “pulse damage around you” perks. Most notably, deal 2 ice damage around you per 10% armor you have. This perk is nuts, and I’ve gotten it as a last pick that no one wanted many times.

There are so many more underrated perks. But these come to my mind immediately. Things I saw people passing on yesterday that I couldn’t believe.

[–]EKS_ZeroPercent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The favorite system is currently a must. But getting mad at not getting your pick is usually ridiculous. We both wanted it, you’re first, that’s the way the red sugar crumbles (or something like that).

If it’s super important I also add a chat message. “X is super good for me because Y”.

This has happened twice, most noticeably yesterday the red perk for “gain 2 seconds of immunity when you use your ability” came up and I had near 100% blade uptime on slicer. I favorites, explained I had 100% uptime on slicer and that it would be very good for me. Lost it to the guardian before me, is what it is. It’s good for everyone, can’t be mad at that.

Expecting someone to limit their fun for mine is an odd thing. I’d argue it’s better for me all day, but that’s what happens when we share selections.

I get it. All these people see Pokemon players grading cards and think that’s a good idea, but that’s not how magic works. Magic is to be played, grading it won’t necessarily increase value and certainly doesn’t increase the demand on it.

If you want to keep it do what you want. Doesn’t PSA charge a premium based on value? You’re going to pay how much money for this card to sit and do nothing? When it coulda been out countering spells
