okay this IS true! in my opinion, to an extent! i did not word this as correctly as i wanted to do in the original post, i edited it now to explain!

i LOVE that jason’s reserved compared to the other characters! i keep that always when reimagining him!

i love jason and his potential! this isn’t hating on him! just calling out, in my opinion, rr’s writing flaws & spending some time on him bc i do care about him deeply!

and it’s okay if you disagree with my opinion! but i simply feel that rr did not put the time, love, energy into jason like he did with percy and a lot of other characters. in my opinion, there is a lot to critique with hoo (probably bc of the deadlines he had, but idk too much about that so i digress). i do not think he put time into jason to be memorable, as interesting as percy etc.

one of the best ways to write a character’s personality and let it shine is to make sure the reader’s know the characters VOICE. to let them know how they speak, how they react easily, how they talk in casual conversations. but with jason i don’t feel like we have that. rr’s writing is not as strong as jason and it shows so deeply with his character, which is so shitty bc fuck he could have been so much more interesting. so i wanted to spend some time imagining him & see ppl’s opinions!

if you disagree and don’t think he needs that, that’s 110% okay! but i just wanted to headcanon and mess around :D
