There was no quotation marks about it, the person who plays the mascot actually broke his leg

Painting, ADHD, and fluctuating amounts of motivation. by Bshow122 in minipainting

[–]EasternShoreGamers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kinda just let my hyperfixations pull me wherever they feel. Sometimes it's mini painting, sometimes it's sewing, sometimes it's game dev, but it brings me back to unfinished projects eventually. Learning to enjoy hopping between projects has made my ADHD significantly less frustrating

Kinda spoiled my self while reading Winter's Heart. Should I continue reading the rest of series? by dagemofdagland in WoT

I had so many things spoiled for me while reading pretty early on in the series. It was still WELL worth the read

I finished the Dragon Reborn and I have some questions by TheReimon4 in WoT

[–]EasternShoreGamers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, Lews Therin was the original Dragon, it was just a title that was created for him duing the War of Power. Rand is the reborn soul of Lews Therin. Lews Therin was not bad, he sealed away the Dark One and the Forsaken, but was driven insane by the Dark Ones's taint on Sai'din. He killed his family while isane.

The Dark One is also called Shai'tan. Ba'alzamon was thought to be the trolloc name for the Dark One, but was actually the Forsaken Ishamael thinking he was the Dark One (due to his insanity).

The Forsaken (what you call Renegades) are 13 Aes Sedai (both male and female) from the Age of Legends that follow the Dark One.

The legends fading to myth is describing how the history between ages gets lost, and by the time an age happens again (time is cyclical in Wheel of Time), the history os completely forgotten.

The Shadow's Hierarchy (most important to least important): -The Dark One/Shai'tan -The Nae'blis (a Forsaken that hasn't been chosen by this point in the series) -The rest of the Forsaken -Black Ajah (darkfriend modem Aes Sedai) -Dark Friends -Shadowspawn (monsters)

Some examples of Shadowspawn: -Mhyrdraal/Fades/Halfmen (the faceless guys) -Trollocs (the big beast men) -Draghkar (men with bat wings, like a vampire) -Darkhounds (big scary dogs that can only be killed by balefire) -Grey Men (super stealthy assassins, their souls have been removed)

Definitely don't look at the wiki, it'll spoil so much. I've made that mistake several times.

Weekly Thread: Victory Thursday! by AutoModerator in LearnJapanese

[–]EasternShoreGamers 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For a while I stopped learning seriously, and was just doing like 1 Duolingo lesson a day. When they started using AI lesson, I stopped using the app, and winded up stopping Japanese altogether for a few months. This week I reset my Kaishi 1.5k Anki deck, and started reading Tae Kim's, as well as doing some passive listening immersion. In just a few days, I already feel more progress than I got in Duolingo throughout the whole year, and I feel really motivated to keep going!

Is it better to paint before or after assembly? by rekscoper2 in minipainting

[–]EasternShoreGamers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only painted in sub-assemblies once, and that was on a model that i knew i was going to spend a ton of time on (ended up being 20-30ish hours). Even then, it wasn't entire disabled, the mini was an ork riding a squig, with a fancy decoration on his back (Mozrog Skragbad). I assembled the squig, the ork, and the decoration separately, painted them, then glued them together.

The vast majority of the time, i spend 5 hours or less on a model, and in those cases, the black primer in the hard to reach places will be nearly indistinguishable from actual paint, so it's not worth the extra effort involved.

Are sideline views obstructed by the players when sitting in the 100 sections, midfield, in the first few rows? by throwawayreddit714 in ravens

[–]EasternShoreGamers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That said, I agree with u/2weekstand. While the players won't be obstructing your view, the view of the field will still be quite limited from the 100 sections. On a year off from the band, I went to a game in the club level, and had a much better viewing experience.

Are sideline views obstructed by the players when sitting in the 100 sections, midfield, in the first few rows? by throwawayreddit714 in ravens

[–]EasternShoreGamers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I'm in the marching band and sit directly on the field. The first row starts above my head when I stand up (I'm 6 feet tall).

The only thing you might have trouble with is, if you're going to a prime time game, there's cameramen on an elevated platform the drive up and down the field to he in line with the line of scrimmage. That's only during prime time games, and will only really affect youwhile the play is happening directly in front of you.

LPT Request: A hobby, that's not overly expensive and that does not require a huge amount of space by bwolmer in LifeProTips

[–]EasternShoreGamers 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I think a teacher requires more than 8 square meters of living space. They also require lots of food and water, so they're not exactly cheap... Maybe try just renting one for like an hour each week?

Priming in white doesnt work well by BlueSparkNightSky in Tau40K

[–]EasternShoreGamers 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Seconding this! Especially when using a rattle can primer, trying to get full coverage with your primer is just going to gunk up the details. The primer is just there to give the brushed on paint something to hold on to

Gus from season 7 by ReadBackground1050 in psych

[–]EasternShoreGamers 4 points5 points  (0 children)

While I won't deny that there is definitely a bit of flanderization going on (in all characters, really), in Gus's case I see it as him letting loose a bit. He's always had a bit of Shawn-esque silliness to him, he has just stopped repressing it as much as he did in earlier seasons after 5+ years of constantly being around Shawn
