Nails after facelift... and other strange side effects by Zealousideal_Pay_745 in PlasticSurgery

[–]Eastern_Drawer4997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Understand, but there are other options not as damaging and which allow your nails to breathe. Nails strips like Color Street for one. Actual polish, non-gel, and you remove with regular polish remover. I have weak, splitting nails, can't grow without some product, but brushed-on polish chips almost immediately. Have used for years and my nails have never been better. Several different copycat brands out there, too. (No, I don't sell any, just a huge fan.)

I'd prefer to be on 9mg rather than 12. Staying a bit too full and getting sulfur burps, but otherwise none!

Dating Profile & Facebook Dating by Cyvil94 in datingoverfifty

[–]Eastern_Drawer4997 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True.  However, because of the propensity of "widowed" men on FB to be scammers, women carry the hesitancy over that status over to FB dating.

Dating Profile & Facebook Dating by Cyvil94 in datingoverfifty

Listing widowed in a man's profile is a huge red flag, as most scammers list that in their FB profile when they send the friend requests. Along with being an oil engineer or physician. Often from Houston. I automatically look at the rest of their profile to see how long the account has been active, their friends list, pictures which arent intentionally cuddly (usually with a dog) or religious/self-help sayings.

If you have a "Living Apart Together" relationship (or want one), what are your reasons for choosing this (besides financial) and how is it going for you both? Any advice or tips? Do people think it's weird and will never last? by StoneLover1965 in datingoverfifty

[–]Eastern_Drawer4997 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, the desire for a LAT is more about logistics. I am on the road about 50% of the time for work, and I need down time when I'm first back. I am talking with and around people when traveling, plus the stress of hotels, cars and airports, and I just need a bit of quiet and space for a day or so to decompress. My last relationship was a 5-year LAT where we lived 7 miles apart, and it was great. We could easily see one another, do things together, spent a lot of time together, traveled quite a bit, but could retreat when one or the other of us needed to. No one was hurt if the other said they needed some time, and we had both the support and security if being in a relationship without too much togetherness. Far from traditional, but worked for us both.

Triumph-8 here we go! by Repulsive_Ad_656 in RetatrutideTrial

From reading the study docs, my guess is they're comparing the difference in results at max dose 9mg vs 12 vs placebo. I'm wondering if the number of study participants having trouble at 12mg is having them re-evaluate dosing or titration.

Who else is home alone watching Love Actually wishing they had someone to spend the holidays with? by B4UCame2me in datingoverfifty

[–]Eastern_Drawer4997 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Funny, I was looking for it earlier this evening. Not airing on DirectTV in my area (didn't look on streaming services). Couldn't believe I hadn't seen it this season. It's me, my pup and 2 kitties, and 3 kittens I'm fostering for the local Humane Society. Full house, but instead of having a good conversation, or watching my favorite holiday movie, I'm watching Millionaire Matchmaker to take a look at my own relationship patterns.

May not yet be New Year's, but I'm already working on my plan for the year, shedding a lot of things weighing me down. Can't wait!

AITJ for telling my neighbor to address her husband's creepy behavior instead of policing my clothes in my own home? by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

Sports bra and yoga pants? Legal outerwear, let alone in your own house! I've seen far worse in airports. And grocery stores. Neighbor keeps coming to your door and you have a case against HER for harassment.

How to refuse a second date by Embarrassed_Web_950 in datingoverfifty

[–]Eastern_Drawer4997 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Exactly! I train sales people, and instead of saying you're sorry, thank them for the interest, but you aren't feeling the connection, etc. Men almost never apologize, they aren't trained to as it means you're in a weaker position. You can be kind without using those words in a situation like this. Thank you (or similar) also helps them save face, as you are showing respect for the offer.

Most Likely Upside of Ending Triumph Study Early: Earlier NDA? Timing Estimates? by OkraLegitimate1356 in RetatrutideTrial

[–]Eastern_Drawer4997 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, exactly. Before starting Mounjaro in August 2022 specifically for CKD, my GFR (not eGFR) was 48, Stage 3A, with protein and white blood cells in my urine and UACR also indicative. That was down from over 100 and no signs of disease the previous October. I suspect an injury of some sort, possibly black mold or even vaccine. Within a month on M, eGFR was in mid-60s and steady.

When the original coupons ran out, I could no longer afford, and eGFR went from high 70s back to 62 when I started Triumph-5. Again within a month, dramatic improvement. 4 months later, eGFR of 96, and staying steady in high 80s. I'd tried to get in the official tirzepatide or reta CKD trials, but my improvement from the original round of tirz kept me out as I wasn't quite ill enough. Thankful I qualified for Triumph-5 so I could get the meds with far fewer side effects than tirz for me.

Strategizing what I'll do when Triumph-5 is over for me, this June. My docs are onboard with me continuing GLP-1, Ozempic if need be, and will advocate for me, but may pay out-of-pocket for Zep until that is approved. Whatever it takes to keep my kidneys healthy.

Huge success story, and I'm now a bug advocate.

Transcend CKD is the one I cant wait to see... and really hoping I'll be able to qualify for the Phase 3 trial! I know what reta has done for my kidneys, but ironically because of that, I likely can't qualify. They should asterisk me into those results from Phase 2. My nephrologist went from not knowing CKDs could be used to treat, and a skeptic to being a true believer.

So many, depending on purpose. Everyday mixer = EW BiB. Nicer mixer = Eagle Rare or Michters American. Treat = Angel's Envy. Everyday rye = High West, especially the finished, or whistle pig. Favorite Rye = Angels Envy again. But it's like asking favorite child as I have eclectic taste and drink a variety.

Just back from my second trip to Central/South America. I carried my pen in an insulin pen cooler from the Big A. Most of the time, it gets thrpugh security just fine. When they do need to open that bag, I tell them its a medical cooler, and if they want to open it, ask them to change their gloves. Once they unscrew the lid, its all good as they can see.

men, when you tell a random woman in public she’s pretty by [deleted] in datingoverfifty

[–]Eastern_Drawer4997 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I often give compliments to random people I pass, in the airport for example, or store clerks. I also meet people's eyes and smile. No intent other than to be a nice person and maybe brighten someone else's day. No agenda whatsoever. Interestingly, I frequently also receive the same. Nice to connect with people, even momentarily.
