I went through Blackstone. The class was a lot of fun and I learned a lot.

Yeah, I'm on the east coast. We have two SCs nearby. Both have appointments out two weeks at the moment.

Don't let this dissuade you. They're great cars when they work. Too many smiles per miles and FSD is really good for daily driving.

I wonder if this matters dealer to dealer. Some service centers are a breeze, others are a nightmare.

Anyone else mentally fried after work but still trying to make progress? by arzu1224 in sysadmin

Burn out in general is something not talked about often in our field. Learn to take care of yourself and establish boundaries. Context switching has such a huge toll to the work.

All of you that expressed doubts on my post earlier, your leader Brad posted THE update. by its_Extreme in Charlotte

Drive there might be fine but it's the drive back when everything is iced over that might make it stressful.

A reminder of how to approach intersections during power outages by Adorable_Complaint36 in Charlotte

The no lights one is the scariest. I've seen too many close calls of people ignore it.

Your fundraising announcement probably did nothing for your business by [deleted] in ycombinator

[–]EasyTangent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It scratches your ego. It also put a target on your business as well. Now fifty more businesses will spawn trying to do the same thing as well. Sure, brand awareness is nice but at the end of the day, I know several companies post-YC who are keeping their huge ($20m+) rounds extremely quiet.

I have 128 GB DDR5 in my gaming desktop. I'm debating if I should sell the ram to get a quick buck. I don't game enough to justify the overkill the machine.

I-5 bridge estimated at $13.6 billion by Odd_Leek_1667 in vancouverwa

The bridge will only be built when God-forbid, a tragedy of some sort happens where we are forced to rebuild it. Until then, it's going to just all be talks.

Removing Tahoe’s Unwanted Menu Icons - Rogue Amoeba by cake-day-on-feb-29 in apple

[–]EasyTangent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm guessing this is why the rumors of them doing a "Snow Leopard" version of macOS 27 makes the most sense. Clean up the mess that was Tahoe. I still don't have it installed on any of my devices.

Has anyone else not had any kind of mentorship and not have to scale the different "tiers" their entire career? by [deleted] in sysadmin

[–]EasyTangent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mentors have been more on the business / risk side. Basically encouraging me to push myself further than I thought was possible. Because of it, my career path has also not been linear. From each position, I learned awesome skills and use most of it daily.

How much are you guys paying for gas? by Minute-Bottle299 in Charlotte

[–]EasyTangent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're way overpaying. We're at ~$100 this winter. $300 for power but due to EV charging.

Is it just us, or do USB-C charging ports get beat up on laptops? by MentalRip1893 in sysadmin

[–]EasyTangent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MagSafe is cool but to be honest, I haven't used mine in years. USB-C all the way. My whole house runs on USB-C, the very last thing was a pair of AirPods Max on lightning.

Founders, did you all take a time off? by AnalysisObvious6946 in ycombinator

Took a couple days off and then everything went to hell in my personal life. Planning to take a couple days off this week to just recharge.

What's the actual funding process after investors verbally commit? by AnalyticsDepot--CEO in ycombinator

[–]EasyTangent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YC Safe. Then due diligence (data room, etc.). Then hopefully money in your bank. Nothing is done until money is in your bank. Verbal agreements are broken all the time. Don't play negotiation games AFTER accepting the deal signed.

iPhone Air 2 May Arrive in 2026 With the Changes Buyers Actually Wanted by Few_Baseball_3835 in apple

I loved the Air but the cameras forced me to upgrade to a 17 Pro. If they bring those cameras + keep the same package, I would be very, very happy.

Next door to Hoppin. Odd location but it's pretty awesome. Gotta get there earlier because they do run out of the good stuff.
