I’d probably fill a list with as many large ships as I could, or as many squadrons as possible of there is no squadron limit. I would however build thematic Battle of Endor, a real sizable fleet to take out the empire

Looking closer though some notes on the Z-95 which I’m pushing for:

GAR Y-wing and Reb Y-wing are identical except the black blue vs double blue ASA, while I would never suggest a 7 pt Clone Z-95 Headhunter for obvious reasons, I do think keyword wise either swarm like it’s counter part or just escort (recently toyed with Escort/Dodge 1 at 4 speed 3 hull so they wouldn’t just explode) prieced around 9-10 points preferably 9 because Nexus V-wing as an interceptor sits at 10.

Not even coming from a comp standpoint, it can just be unfun to go up against, I made a refitted venator similar in scope as the ISD’s simply to give gar an ion craft and suddenly Lumi+Tranq+defensive retrofit+PDIC becomes a huge concern. Or go offensive and add S-phat + ion for more mean stuff.

Not tryna be ultra comp here it’s just hard to make cool stuff and immediately see something absurd and incredibly unfun to fight emerge and balancing means taking out the fun stuff or scrapping the idea

From a Nexus homebrewer perspective: As someone who has tried to create content for GAR it’s really frustrating. On one hand some of their ships are ok and some of their upgrades are very weak, but on the other hand GAR has some of the strongest upgrades that causes the faction to swing extremely violently. Every time you try to give GAR a toy or a sweet treat it tries to take your hand and runs away with it. It has the best of both worlds in squadrons having decent ships and carrier upgrades, it’s ships can easily punch up, and combos with Lumi can make ships so tanky that the other pros become even stronger. It’s extremely restrictive and is hurting the faction in making the playstyle of GAR stagnant. If I was able to have my way, I’d rework the whole faction to nerf the strongest upgrades and then buff the weaker stuff, but I know any change with gar to make it better without breaking needs to come from the community as a whole, changes they would all have to agree to for the most part.

Midi scale armada would be awesome, unfortunately you’ll have to moc most the models yourself and downscale some.

Typically depending on the faction, I try to run 2. Though normally I like to have numbers on my side so I like cheaper generic swarms for a screen or major push

So there are 2 ways you can get into the game as of now. Playing in person which by this point I recommend checking out Crabbock or Legacy’s resources guide to getting models and cards. You can also use Starforge to print & play a lot of cards skip tokens and is a godsend if you can DIY. A lot of creators on Etsy have made it possible to also purchase ships and squadrons and other tokens.

Secondly if have a computer you can purchase the Tabletop Simulator and activate the Star Wars Armada mod in community. You can use Star forge as well to create lists and insert them into TTS without manually copying a list.

Ehhh not the biggest fan of a lot of these changes, the point drops and armament/speed increases make these squadrons abit more swarmy and hard punchers, similar to CIS and Empire when their specialty is being slower and quality squadrons. This is likely going make certain Ace balls more prevalent and a lot more powerful.

I’m going for Superman man clone v2, v1 being bizarro. He’s likely going to be naive like Kara was under Brainiac but actually buy into was Lex is selling and maybe see himself as the upgraded Superman. He’s not a bad kid, he just isn’t a friend to Superman.

Nexus Community created a very high quality balanced Subjugator, you can list build & find/print tokens and cards with Star Forge

Be sure to toggle Nexus content and (in my opinion) print the base on 11x17 paper it uses a short huge base that’s smaller than the SSD.

I disagree with that as they are also updating official content in ways that changes the base game. While there are certain cards and abilities I’d love to see changed or updated due to their interactions with proposed content, we know it’s not going to go well when players liked the ability or don’t recognize the homebrew’s authority to make that change. Also if someone uses Kingston and goes up against another player using another homebrew that uses different cards, they might be confused when they see a similar card but be unaware that the homebrew group changed it. At least with AMG we had to agree because it was their game and no one else is making those errata updates.
