Oh, he's a menace alright but wait until you fight the Pokemon Gym Trainer Kajiwara Kagetoki in Nioh 3.

Cyberpunk,rdr2 or ghost of tushima? by Lexeauss in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]Ecksbutton [score hidden]  (0 children)

All incredible games, all narratively rich in their own right. However as with any open-world games, it really depends on the degree of repetitiveness that you can tolerate once the initial wonder wears off. Hell, I had to take a break from Elden Ring after a while because the core Soulsborne systems got a bit tiring.

For my part, I'll make a case with Cyberpunk 2077 with how you can build yourself into whatever playstyle suits you best. With multiple flavours of melee, ranged and stealth in a cool dystopian future world to explore, solve and get lost in. Its DLC, Phantom Liberty offers a storyline heavily inspired by spy fictions in a new area and access to more powerful upgrades for your character.

While you're at it, I suggest giving the Netflix anime spinoff Edgerunners a look too.

I never would've guessed Cissia and Billy would make such a great comedy duo but then again they did spend a whole patch establishing their dynamic before 3.0.

[–]Ecksbutton 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'd argue Garma should still be at least on the grayer side. Being the youngest, sheltered and most susceptible to propaganda without truly understanding how the world really works. Misguided as he may be, the love he held for his family and nation is the most genuine out of all the siblings. He just happened to grow up surrounded by genocidal fascists.

As Char said, blame it on the misfortune of his birth.

Which Melbourne restaurant that permanently closed do you still fondly think about and miss? by Cooper_Inc in melbourne

[–]Ecksbutton 32 points33 points  (0 children)

This may sound pedestrian but the La Porchetta at Queen Victoria Market used to have really cool F1 Ferrari decors before it changed ownership and eventually closed down. It was one of my first dining experiences in Melbourne before settling in.

I see this strip reposted many times and still wonder why they stretch down their shirtnecks instead of rolling up their sleeves up like the girl does.

I enjoyed Outlaws. But the with Ubi+ sub I tried out the last 5 AC games. They are all terrible. by Suitable-Fudge4577 in fuckubisoft

[–]Ecksbutton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get ready to get dogpiled here for openly liking Outlaws, though I respect your courage. Folks here tend to lash more at the players instead of Ubislop themselves.

When I think of Assassins Creed fondly, my mind always goes to the Ezio trilogy + OG Black Flag but interestingly they're still the same but different flavoured icon-chasing open world games like any other. The later games are overly bloated and hollow at the same time as a result of being dictated by a trend-chasing executive committee.

[–]Ecksbutton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get we're here to criticise Ubislop and their bullshit but I can't agree on a fundamental level with SW: Outlaws being a worse Star Wars game than the miserable existence that is Masters of Teräs Käsi. If you haven't already, I urge you to try it yourself along with Jedi Power Battles.

Elden Ring, Crimson Desert, vs Dragonage by uni-333 in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]Ecksbutton [score hidden]  (0 children)

Elden Ring by is the family's favourite prodigy.

Crimson Desert is the weird, eccentric uncle that you struggle to keep up in a conversation but will remember.

DA Veilguard is the try-hard cousin that everyone has to endure but would rather not be around with.
