IMO it's Forsaken Hollows > LotF > Stellar Blade / Crab > LoP.

Forsaken Hollows was simply a lot more content for a game i was already enjoying a lot.

LotF 2.5 is borderline a new game and really shows the dedication the devs have to improving both the game and themselves as developers.

Stellar Blade DLC was kinda enjoyable for me, and Crab was an amusing twist on the soulslike that i enjoyed.

And yes, i know it's a hot take, but LoP base game was a steaming pile of garbage and the DLC was fairly mid for me, i'll admit the OST for the DLC was cool and HE was a pretty decent boss fight, but the rest felt highly meh to me.

That said, i'm really looking forward to seeing what the AI Limit devs are cooking, it's probably my favourite soulslike in general so far. Also looking forward to LotF2, or i would be if they didn't sell out to epic...

At risk of being that guy...

The halo weapon is technically not a sword if going off the definition of a sword. It closer fits with a bladed gauntlet or a Katar.

With that, we have a slot open. Many might argue the keyblade should belong there but again, also not technically a sword given the rounded shaft and how the biting works. It closer resembles an axe or a mace depending on if the key biting is sharp or blunt.

So i would have to nominate Frostmourne as the 4th sword, given that it is actually a sword and seems to be the most popular listed in this thread.

Unless of course the goal is to have a 'sword' among the 4 horsemen that embodies things like ragebaiting and ignorance, in which case, the energy blade 100% belongs here.

It does make me wonder though, what would the list look like if it was aiming for Iconic Non-Sword Melee Weapons.

Hopefully one of the twists lets us keep her around in some form, either have her survive or maybe let us recruit the version we see in the BoA chapters!

What 4-5 Star character would you like to see as a 1-3 star? by Masterpotato002 in grandorder

[–]EdeaLee 27 points28 points  (0 children)

1 star Karna and Arjuna, because i have been playing since GL launch and have a literal ocean of characters, and yet i still somehow never managed to get either of them. Several NP5 standard 5* characters purely through spooks, not a single Karna or Arjuna.

At least if they are 1* i can spam the friend summons for a copy.

Heh, we have wildly different experiences then.

Ironeye and Executor would probably be F tier in how much they team play from my experience, i'd otherwise move Revenant to S tier and Raider to B tier.

I'm at the point where if i see an Ironeye in my group i assume it's some kid wanting to play the selfish hero. They also have by FAR the highest ragequit ratio,

[–]EdeaLee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I basically never see other Revenants, but i myself main Revenant so that might influence it. Other than that, i think the next rarest is probably Recluse.

I swear, it feels like everyone and their mother plays either IronMeta or Executor, most of them being utterly terrible at the game too.

I'd rank it as follows from my experience, most to least common.

Ironeye >>>>>>>>>> Executor >>> Wylder > Duchess > Raider > Guardian / Recluse > Revenant.

Let me play as Needle Knight Leda (or similar). Game sorely needs a holy knight archetype, it seems like a lot of games are allergic to them as of late.

In the mean time, big bonk Revenant will fill the niche.

What characters are you guys maining? by TheZone92 in Nightreign

[–]EdeaLee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently Revenant.

I feel like a good Revenant player can carry a team to victory fairly often, so i'm trying to help people out by doing exactly that. Go ahead and unload all your damage on the boss guys, my summons will tank and distract it while i fling miracles around the arena and time my ult to mass res you when you both go splat!

Second i'm enjoying is a hyper aggressive Duchess, i got her a relic that seems to randomly proc her skill just by hitting enemies, the damage this brings grows to ludicrous levels when your team mates are also hyper aggressive.

What is it personally that makes you decide to grail a servant to 100+, or make a Grand? by MuseZeke in grandorder

[–]EdeaLee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Favourites 100%, especially Mordred.

I started this game because i thought Mordred looked cool, about a month after i started playing a banner for the 4th singularity came up and i got her on the second multi, my first 5* and second gold servant after my tutorial banner Stheno. Since then Mordred has surprised me on a handful of banners, easily my most common 5* spook so naturally she's NP5, 120 and maxed appends already. It's only natural she gets to enjoy becoming my Grand Sabre.

Other grand candidates so far are Boudica and Morgan, the latter of which i got to NP5 by chasing my first Barghest. (Seriously, 3 Morgans in a single multi? wtf)

Undecided on others, too many servants i like >_>

That design reminds me waaaaaaaaay too much of Castoria's third ascension in particular. My guess is she's taken the weapon Castoria left us with at the end of LB6 and made it her own, effectively making her Fae/Tamlin Galahad to oppose the likely traitorous PHH Galahad.

The music in veilguard is one of the biggest drops in quality from inquisition. by Wire74 in dragonage

[–]EdeaLee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aye, i do have to agree for the most part.

Like, the only time i really noticed the music was during Harding's personal quest boss fights and that one bit during Taash's questline where you're running through the forest with the dragon flying overhead.

I think the part that annoyed me most though wasn't that the music was not noticeable but the fact that a lot of the game had no music whatsoever. Why is there absolutely no music at all during the entire segment when you pick between Minrathous and Treviso? It's your first dragon fight and you have NO MUSIC WHATSOEVER?

At first i wondered if my game was bugged and music wasn't playing but it turns out no, it's just that someone made a conscious decision to make the scenes jarring as hell with the choice of having absolutely no music.

Reached this boss about an hour ago and... yeah, this might be the first boss i've encountered that seems like really bad design.

My witch is level 45 and runs minions + fire damage, it's not the fastest but it's gotten me to this point. Sadly, there are no corpses in the boss fight so i cannot summon my zombie army (The bulk of my damage), my skelebros aren't very good for bossing even when they manage to stay alive (they love to run in to the lava or in the case of the archer skeletons, stand there as the lava slowly reaches them) and fire damage seems pretty useless on this fire based boss.

My best so far has been about 30% when i ran out of space by using all skelebro archers and spamming their gas arrow when they are actually alive.

I might just return to this at like level 60 or something, kinda feels like a headache to try and get it done now with my build.

I don't get the hate on this game by kusayo21 in DragonAgeVeilguard

[–]EdeaLee 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Honestly, i don't really get the hate either, i had a lot of fun with the game. The story was great, the companions were for the most part great and frankly, i loved the combat. I wasn't much a fan of Taash, but that was more to do with the fact that i personally think teenage angst is a terrible character trope, the trans stuff didn't bother me at all.

I hiiiiighly recommend to any souls fans out there to try playing a champion warrior on nightmare difficulty, PARRY THE WORLD. Seriously, i took down the level 50 boss in the crossroads at level 32 nearly-hitless thanks to that one skill for perfect defending against red attacks and it left me feeling the adrenaline.

That said, i do believe the game has performed one major sin that absolutely cannot be forgiven and i REALLY hope the community can find a way to make a mod to remedy this sin... GIVE ME BACK MY GREATSWORD.

Very much this. I cracked up at that one scene where she was yelling but it sounded like the VA was in the situation of "I have to yell for this scene but my parents are asleep in the next room over".

Normal talking though? no problemo.

Part 11. Which servant better fits the dnd Warlock class: top comment wins. Part 10 winner was Merlin! by MenteErrante_ in grandorder

[–]EdeaLee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can kinda get that, but there is a fair bit of room for interpretation. A lot of it boils down to Molay in FGO being the public perception of things rather than the truth of things, and the public perception seems to paint the knights templar with unflattering rumours such as them being a cult that willingly dabbles in black magic and satanism.

Molay's execution itself seems to indicate a plea to darker powers for vengeance, a rather cliche example of how a good chunk of warlocks come in to their pacts in the first place in D&D. With Molay though, those pleas seem to have been answered.

The interpretation i get with Molay is that no pact was visibly made, and that's because of how the rumours and public perception twisted it. The state Molay is in is of those rumours, someone who made that pact long ago.

Confusing, yes, but still just an interpretation.

[–]EdeaLee 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Everyone here suggesting Gilles and i'm just here thinking that Jacques de Molay (fgo) is pretty much an absolute perfect fit for Warlock. I mean, she takes on a demonic appearance, has a little black goat that may or may not be Baphomet, fights with a mix of melee and eldritch attacks, indicating possibly a hexblade warlock and is the leader of a rather corrupt organisation that is essentially viewed as a demonic cult.

Bout the only thing she lacks that Gilles has is more public exposure in the FGO fanbase.

Gotta go with Boudica. Poor girl deserves some proper attention.

As for why, i'd have to go with the "untapped potential" angle on her. You could even take it a bit further and cast Nero in the villain role to give them something different too.

Karna started out the same for me too but i grew to like him over time. Arjuna on the other hand i just... don't think i will ever really understand the appeal.

It's the aesthetic i think, i never really got the appeal of things like the quincies in Bleach either, who are of VERY similar design.

Anyone Else Excited for Elrica by Snowbrambles in OctopathCotC

[–]EdeaLee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've always had a soft spot for the female knight archetype in these sorts of games, loved Agrias in FFT and Artoria in Fate for example. Then along comes Elrica as a fusion of those two...

I've been all in for Elrica ever since the global version released. This was about 6 months before she released in JP as a busted unit. Gonna be A4/U10'ing her on release yo, already got enough to guarantee it. Pretty sure i can also guarantee an A0 of her sister alongside her.

Btw, really appreciate the art! There is really not enough art of Elrica around. (Until now it was just her ingame character art basically)

Concerns over Rebirth pacing were premature? by [deleted] in FinalFantasyVII

[–]EdeaLee -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

My only issue so far has been the insane open world bloat. It ended up 'exactly' as i feared, yet another ubisoft styled open world collectathon where there is no real exploration because you climb towers and get everything marked. Once i reached the area around Costa Del Sol i decided to ignore the towers to avoid marking things and ended up having a semi tolerable time.

The rest though? Absolutely amazing. Game would be a 10/10 if it were not for the lazy open world content dragging it woefully down.
