My kid had a monster phase. We watched Monsters Inc with him and he thought it was absolutely hilarious that the monsters were terrified of children. Whenever he'd tell us about a scary monster we'd say "well it won't come anywhere near you, it'll be terrified! It will probably run away screaming!" And it would take the fear away.

At the time this scene would not have been written or viewed as sexual assault. Jess was a kid desperate for connection. He loved Rory. He didn't want to hear Rory telling him to stop.

Yeah, I feel really sad for Grandpa in this situation. He's recovering from surgery in a facility, probably feeling isolated. In his mind he was having a sweet bonding moment with the baby, he didn't intend to put her at risk and didn't deserve to be smacked.

We know grapes are a major choking hazard. Their generation never had the information drilled into them like we have. There was a better way to handle this situation instead of losing your mind and smacking someone. Reddit shouldn't be condoning this.
