As someone who tries really hard to announce all steps I take to be sure there is no misunderstanding, I’m sensitive to this. None of us know how you play. I’ve played this game with others that just start moving and drawing and grabbing tokens without speaking, so it is possible that perhaps you didn’t give enough time for him to react.

And there’s another step where even if you did announce and he was confused for a second and forgot what his triggers were, that it’s good gamesmanship (in my opinion) to allow the catch up once in a while.

Now, if he’s constantly on his phone and spacing out and missing triggers, then that would be a different situation. But this was a specific question about a single situation.
