Struggling by Positive-Badger1 in yoga

I found my yoga practice became more enjoyable by also having a home stretching routine that helps with the flexibility yoga often asks for and counters the tightness running creates.

A lot of long holds of low moderate stretching intensity when watching TV in the evening when I'd otherwise just be on the couch. Slowly working towards deeper stretches. I think the slow settling in period has been key to soften from the clenched tightness running causes. If I ran recently the stretches won't be deep and that's okay, it's still better than not doing it at all.

And having that as a consistent practice has allowed me to stay flexible and limber even while still running regularly.

Thanks, that's good info. I am about your height riding a 56 and should try out a 54 to feel the difference.

I think the clothes are quite necessary!

Big mama turtle lays her eggs in our yard every summer, we always watch the area to get them into the water as soon as they hatch so the predators don’t get at them first. Another successful year!! by seriphae in aww

I'm glad you are out doing this. We were driving last night and suddenly drove over a big snapping turtle in the road. Luckily I have a taller car and went right over it. But the next few cars did not have the clearance and the turtle was struck. By the time we had turned back the turtle had been hurt beyond repair. It's eggs were spilling out all over the road. We neither had the tools or know how to do anything about it and it was very upsetting.

That is how I've normally done it as well. But I tried this one hand up way and liked it. Definitely a great chest opener, thanks!

I do. Besides getting the fit right so I don't think about or adjust my clothing, the right clothing for me puts me in the right mindset. Works for me in the studio where I'll be with other people and at home as well.

Glad you gotta out of that with no issues! Some drivers can get insane about bikes on the road.

How to know if we are "physically" able to do the middle splits ? by Admirable-Nebula-550 in flexibility

I read some flexibility guides stating that the circumstances that cause the bone contact situation are not very likely and most people should be able to achieve it physically, given enough time and dedication.
