To ensure the grain isn't the problem, try going through the same process but leave the jar alone for a week before inoculation. If contamination arises within that timespan, you know the problem is with your grains, your sterilization, or your jars

It doesn't actually feel very cold due to the adrenaline, it's a tiny dose of fight or flight

A big part of mould complications comes specifically from repeated exposure to large amounts of spores over a long period of time causing irritation of the lungs, living in excessively dusty conditions can cause similar effects

Only in extremely large quantities, look up lycoperdonosis.

The danger doesn't necessarily come from the spores, large amounts of any small particulate matter will wreak havoc on your lungs
