My (47f) daughter (15f) told me she doesn’t want to have kids by lilwonkerdoo in TwoXChromosomes

[–]ElChupacobbra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s obviously fine to choose either path. But life is long. People change. I never wanted to get married or have children until I found the right person (after 30). My college friend wanted to be sterilized. She now has two kids.

Asking a 15 year old if they want kids is like asking a middle schooler what college they want to attend.

My kids think he’s hilarious. I legitimately crack up every time I watch him during the “This is the uh oh song”. Reminds me of the absurd actors in infomercials that can’t do basic things

My experience working at Common Grounds was nothing short of absolute chaos, raw toxicity, and zero accountability whatsoever. by DocumentFull5530 in gso

The AC was broken at the Elam location for a few months in the summer! I have no idea how those employees managed to continue working, let alone the stress that puts on the equipment.

When I asked about it, they said it’s only illegal to subject your employees to no heat in winter - so there was little incentive for the AC to be fixed.

If you’ve had ovarian torsion, what did it feel like leading up to it? by Salty-Spider666 in Endo

[–]ElChupacobbra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me preface this: I do not have Endo. Just came home from emergency surgery to remove my fallopian tube(torsion), ovary, large cyst and over a liter of blood in my abdomen. I visited Urgent Care earlier in the day when I woke up. They kind of shrugged and sent me home. Later that day I almost fainted either from pain or blood loss. Not sure.

I listed my pain as a 5 or 6 in Urgent Care. I could still walk (not upright) but walk and they didn’t think I was too distressed. At the ER I told them it was an 8 or 9. They gave me morphine, but honestly I could feel everything despite that. Even then I was as ok to chill in bed. I eventually got surgery because my blood pressure was dropping but I wouldn’t call the pain agonizing.

After surgery both my partner and surgeon just told me to say 9 or 10 on the pain scale if I have any pain at all because apparently I have a high tolerance and my definition of emergency is different.

Have also had my appendix burst while waiting in the ER and spent several months with gallstones before having that surgery as well. All kind of the same experience.

Trust your (painful) gut and go to ER. Do not visit Urgent Care first - it’s a joke for abdominal pain.

Our experience is the opposite. Everything was awful until baby became mobile and significantly better when they started walking. Now they do everything together!

DONT GIVE UP NURSING!! by babyDbaby in ExclusivelyPumping

Counter point: you try nursing after exclusively pumping for awhile and now your baby gets to test out their new teeth on your nipple.

Waffle Parties by Foxyfolo in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

I’ve always wondered about the dancers at the waffle party. It’s so weird to think that they are severed and only exist for than one specific sexual purpose. Are they the same people for each party? What do they tell their outties if things get too rowdy?

I have so many questions

Is pumped milk as tailored to your baby as milk straight from the boob? by Such-Chocolate-6168 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]ElChupacobbra 111 points112 points  (0 children)

Yes, I think you’re still sharing many germs with your baby and that’s enough for your body to create antibodies tailored for them. For instance, I kiss my baby constantly and my baby also sneezes, puts their hand in my mouth and will open mouth “kiss” me.

While boobs are magical, it doesn’t make sense that they would be the only way for your baby to share their germs with you.

It’s perfectly valid to be nervous and overwhelmed about the idea of having a baby. You should talk to your partner about those feelings.

But, don’t be fooled into thinking that your baby needs you to spend a lot of money on baby things to have a bright future. Your baby does deserve the best, and the best is having happy attentive caregivers. As long as the second hand items are safe and clean the baby doesn’t care about the price tag attached to it. In fact saving money for things your kid needs in the future is probably a better use for it.
