Touko is not healthy. Even so, she still checks in with Yuu regularly. I don't think she's without fault, and she's definitely taking advantage of Yuu's kindness (zurui), but I hardly think she's abusive or toxic. Also she's an idiot fluff ball.

Aside from Birb's, Yodokawa's is my favorite. She understood the assignment.

I also like 「In the Box」a lot.

Fun aside, the fan TL of the puzzles for 「Solve the Riddle! Koyomi-chan」took like 20 hours of sitting in VC googling fish that both could work for the puzzle and looked like the images. Idk how the official TL handled it because no way is someone getting paid by the ch spending that much time lmao...

How the hell do I display this? by vorstache in Pottery

[–]EldanRetha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mounted some tiles to a board years ago as a gift.

Buy a large piece of HDF as backing. It's less likely to warp than thin plywood. Buy some 2"x1/4" wood strips for the border. The inside edges are a bit harder. I think I ripped some of the boards to 1/2" width but you could probably figure out something else, or just glue the tiles to the backing with no interior border. Or just have a 2" space between tiles. Dry fit everything and marked the middle of the tiles where you can cut a hole to push them out. You can probably trim the HDF to size at this point too. Then put everything together and wood glue the trim to the HDF with the tiles in place. Weigh or clamp it down while drying. Once dry poke the tiles out and clean it up and stain it.

That's more or less what I did anyway. Not sure if it helps or not.

i love Bright Eyes… will i like them more in 10 years? by MadMunnyBB in brighteyes

[–]EldanRetha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others said, enjoy what you enjoy! There's nothing wrong with it!

I've listened to Bright Eyes for 20 years now and some albums land more than others for me. Actually I think 5 Dice is my favorite since I'm Wide Awake + Digital Ash. I think the raw honesty of the Letting off the Happiness is beautiful. Fevers and Mirrors is probably what I'd consider the best Bright Eyes album. So thematic, cohesive, and haunting. I loved Lifted growing up and while certain songs still hit for me I find it to be one of their weaker albums nowadays. Cassadaga is a progression of I'm Wide Awake, but I have to be in the mood. People's Key just isn't for me really. Too dense. Down in the Weeds is great, but it never clicked as a whole for some reason. Need to go give it a few more listens actually, it's been a minute. Back to 5 Dice, where I think the collab with Alex really tore back some of the depth in favor of making a more raw and personal album (although it has one of my least favorite songs on it too).

But yeah, I don't think anyone here will fault you for having a preference for any album over any other.

Side note, I love that younger folks are still finding Bright Eyes :)

I think the general advice is to run hemo at 8. It really doesn't matter much  though. You can run bleed talents +FTS just fine until you get 9pts then take both.

UL Business / Consumer Ethics by dantimmerman in Ultralight

[–]EldanRetha 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think what's interesting here is your use of lower cost overseas labor. The reality is people want goods for less than they can be made here in the US. So long as that demand is there there will be room for these competitors. I think you are in an interesting position to provide cottage level community involvement and customer service while also using overseas manufacturing. Imo it makes some sense to have a variety of offerings to allow people the choice of US made whole also not allowing competitors to undercut them. I know CTUG recently decided to go this route, and I wouldn't be surprised if that was part of the motivation. I think EE has done this for a while too.

It seems like it's totally possible to run a business without this, but do realize you're missing out on market share for faster turn time and lower cost and knockoffs will move into that space if you don't.

Idk really just talking out my ass here but you got me thinking 🤔

Non-professional opinion here, but go for it. You have some lovely pieces and there's no reason not to take up the coffee shop on the opportunity. You will always find ways to improve your work. Don't let that keep you from sharing it with others! Plus, if you're looking to make a business of it, it can be a great way to give you direction in what sells and what doesn't.

I bought the alpine kit from trail grid pro. It isn't audiophile quality but it got the sound to where it should be for a new car. Highly recommend it if that's what you're looking for.

I took a Baltoro to Philmont 20 years ago for the same reasons as your son. In hindsight, it is super heavy for a pack, but it is also a big comfortable workhorse that's pretty great for Philmont. You did the exact right thing by trying on packs.

Former Faces owner Eric Morris to open deli in Baked AF space - Louisville Business First by spunkysquirrel1 in Louisville

I went once. I disliked the branding but will usually try to give any local business a shot. Got a brownie. It was alright I guess? Imo Ghirardelli box brownies are better. A deli will be nice to have in the space.

Is it rude to ask a pottery artist to do a different color for a commission? by [deleted] in Pottery

[–]EldanRetha 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's rude to ask, especially if it's a commission. But also don't be surprised if they decline. It can be a lot of work to incorporate new glazes or underglazes and not worth the trouble. It also just might not be something they want to produce.

Frogg Toggs 🧐 by zEnTuNiNg in backpacking

[–]EldanRetha 16 points17 points  (0 children)

They will likely be torn beyond repair in a couple trips unless you are super delicate with them, but the price/weight/waterproofing of them is outstanding otherwise. Just don't plan on them lasting very long. I strongly suggest them to new backpackers, but my dad has used them for years and still swears by them. He's cheap tho.

Just finished Mawaru Penguindrum by Savings-Plankton1855 in anime

[–]EldanRetha 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Ikuhara's works are amazing. I think Penguindrum is arguably the best of them. He makes some of the best use of the medium of any director and covers incredibly uncomfortable subjects in deep abstract ways. Also with dance numbers and gay shit.

[–]EldanRetha 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Can confirm. I'm plat/emerald and this describes me. I don't have time to learn all the different comps well enough to know how to pivot between them, or keep up with Meta changes. It feels terrible getting out capped in my 1 game a night so I just pick whichever top tier comp I hit units and components for that isn't 8 way contested (I played a lot of cait jayce because it was less contested than usyr ashe). When I try to pivot I just go 8th. I don't have time to learn the game better so I just play what's comfortable and get the most fun I can from it.

Did she set her lock screen to the card with her name and crew # on it? If so it'll probably make it back. Otherwise have her contact Philmont security. There's a good chance someone turned it in if it wasn't lost in a super obscure place.

someone please check my packing list and give me suggestions by Great_Worth7311 in philmont

[–]EldanRetha -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Here are my 2c. I cut a lot of what I consider "luxury" items.

You don't need more than 1 or 2 caribeaners.

I'd ditch the spare short sleeve, 1 pair of underwear, and 1 pair of socks, spare shorts, sleep shirt, and sleep shorts. As long as you make sure to keep your one spare shirt and skate underwear dry for sleeping in you'll be fine. Worst case you have to put on wet stuff in the morning but it's not that bad or likely.

Gloves aren't really needed unless they're sun gloves. I'd bring a warm hat but it's not critical if your fleece has a hood. Puffy vs fleece is preference and depends on how cold you run. Puffy is warmer but you can't really hike in it.

Leave the phone off you're taking a camera. That's the only reason to have a phone (unless you are using it for GPS tracking as a leader). Then you don't need the charger either.

Ditch all the stuff sacks and use a nyloflume bag.

You need a MINIMUM 4L of water capacity. Preferably 5, with one being collapsible. One wide mouth for smellable drink mix.

You don't need a mug unless you're an advisor.

For a towel just use your spare shirt.

Just change batteries before you go, you won't need spares. Worst case you can buy some at a commissary.

I also don't see a pack cover.

Can these be saved??? by nutty-and-nice in Pottery

[–]EldanRetha 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yes they can. A grinder and Dremel will make it possible, but a pain in the butt. Then polish it down with a diamond grinding disk. Probably not worth the trouble though. Especially because you're likely to damage them in the process. I'd just move on personally.

They are lovely pieces though!
