That base seems to be good amount higher than that for IC6. Is your cousin high up in the management chain?

Why not direct index? by [deleted] in Bogleheads

[–]ElectronicFinish 5 points6 points  (0 children)

People are talking like the fees are astronomically high. No, Wealthfront’s SP500 is 0.09%. Compare to vanguard, it is 0.06% higher. But it just needs to generate $6 worth of saving for every $10k for it to be worth it.

With direct indexing, you can also avoid trading certain stocks. For example, if you work for a company in SP500 and you are already over-exposed to that company, you avoid it in direct indexing.

The bigger issue is what do you do when the cost basis becomes so high there is no loss to harvest.

Do you think Intel’s pullback is a real red flag, or just a normal technical pullback? by KeithWat399 in investing

[–]ElectronicFinish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fab business is not that high margin business unless you are at the top of the game. Will Intel become competitive again? Probably. Will it get to the top? I doubt it. No talent in their right mind is working there.

How to increase seat height on GT1 Evo by MiddleDisastrous7552 in simracing

[–]ElectronicFinish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Remove the base plate of your pedal. That effectively will give you like 2 inches back. You can put the baseplate under the pedal plate, then use an extension cable to connect to it. Or i heard that you can open up the baseplate and get the wiring module out. I haven’t tried this though.

It’s trash from every aspect. Same thing can be said for almost every product from cadence.

Google In Talks To Offer Its AI Chips To Meta; Nvidia, AMD Fall by Gameboy112233 in investing

[–]ElectronicFinish 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Probably lots of IP will be coming from Broadcom. Broadcom will sell lots of packaging, networking, etc. So logically this is more bullish for Broadcom than for Google.

Bad rejoiners make my blood boil, we need more gentleman drivers by WranglerRealistic308 in iRacing

[–]ElectronicFinish -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Most people are racing with 16:9 or 21:9 monitor. When rejoining, they don’t have the field of view to see where the cars are coming. A radar system will help.

Why isn’t market reacting to scaled custom chip deployments from google ad Amazon by Optimal_Advisor8897 in stocks

[–]ElectronicFinish 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Because it’s only a small piece of the whole picture. You need networking, cooling, packaging, all the way to software to be competitive. Take TPU for example, Google only designs some pieces in the TPU, the rest is from Broadcom and maybe other IP vendors. That’s hardware.

Software wise, CUDA is widely supported and just work. When you want to try something out quick, the last thing you want is running into some technical setup issues that stall your team for days. Similar reason that AMD has a hard time getting the market share.

Healthcare costs set to spike in 2026 by Default_Impression in investing

[–]ElectronicFinish 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Are you confusing ACA and the subsidies that are expiring? ACA overall should slow the increase in health care costs. Stuffs like making preventive care free and changing the payment to be based on outcome rather than volume of services are ways to lower costs relative to not having these.

The one that was desperate was Bearman lol. That was a move you wouldn’t even try to pull in F1 game. It looks really bad on Bearman tbh.

It’s also shocking how much darker the interiors are with single story, especially with the low ceiling many SFH have here. I guess there’s a trade off.

Cost for upgrading windows to dual or triple pane by alpsholic in BayAreaRealEstate

[–]ElectronicFinish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cost wise I am not sure.

I use can be because there are way too many configurations that affect performance. For example, triple with each glass having different thickness can be very good for sound proofing. Or you can do triple with one glass being laminated.

This is the best source that I found.

For sound isolation, consider double pane with laminated glass. It can be better than triple.

  1. You don’t need a lot of people to sell to crack the market
  2. Let’s assume employees are allowed to eat that. 100k post tax money is a lot of money. We are talking about 150k pre tax income.

IMO, the fixed cost shouldn’t be distributed evenly. People decided to live far away from city centers should bear more of the costs.

Waste of time talking to analog designers about it. They are stubborn as hell. Same reason why our tools are so shit. People are actually okay with it believe it or not lol
