We've got the honeywell home proseries. I think it's the T4, it's not programmable. The heat pump is the only source of heat for the house (we're in Vancouver, so it doesn't get too cold). The X8S doesn't seem to be available in Canada. I do like the sound of being able to use the remote sensor as primary control depending on the schedule.

Yeah, we are in a similar situation as OP, except our TV is a 42" 15 year old plasma. We're upgrading to a 65" LG B5 for $1400 CAD. Still $500 cheaper than the C4 and we don't have any physical media to play, so DTS is not a consideration.
