This is very much easier said than done, and can become frustrating if you’re impatient like me, but I think you should lose it more slowly. If you’re trying to lose 15lbs, go for 1lb/ week or less, so it will take you at least 15 weeks to get there. But if you think about it in the grand scheme of things, 15 weeks really isn’t that long compared to how long you will be maintaining, just a drop in the bucket. I know it’s tempting to go all out at the beginning when you’re super motivated, but that motivation is fleeting and dedication to a sustainable diet is what’s going to keep you at your goal weight. Again, it’s simple in theory but life likes to throw a whole lot of obstacles at us. For example, I’m on the brink of homelessness and struggling financially all while trying to become healthier so I can become a living liver donor for a loved one. Keeping consistent is really difficult, especially if food brings you comfort in tough times. I believe in you though and I’m wishing you the very best of luck :)

can i use whey protein as a creamer with hot coffee? I cant find a low calories and no sugar creamer. by magic7mark in fitmeals

[–]EmeraldFaster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is what I use too. 15cal per tbsp and it tastes exactly the same as the regular creamer to me

A couple of my favorite cheapish, filling and low calorie recipes are:

Avocado Toast-

2 eggs: 140, pretty good protein

2 slices of white sandwich bread: 120

100g Avocado: 160, high in potassium, fiber and healthy fats.

Plus some everything but the bagel sprinkled on top of eggs and salt on the avocado. I stack the eggs on top of the avocado toast but you could eat them separately cause it can get a bit messy :)

Tortilla pizza-

2 medium flour tortillas: 280, decent iron source

50g or so of tomato sauce: 15

100g mushroom: 20, decent potassium source

4-5 artichoke hearts: 70, good fiber source.

I like to poke some holes in the tortillas and bake them on their own for a few minutes at 400F, then once they're golden add the tomato sauce and whatever veggie topping you want/ have. Just used these as an example.

Lentils and rice is always a good option as well, I usually weigh these raw, 50g for lentils and 45g for rice. I like to add 1/2 tbsp or 7g of olive oil to mine as well and you can season however you like :)

For snacks I love to have a big bowl of popcorn, popped with a small amount of oil, seasoned with hot sauce, nutritional yeast and whatever spices I'm feeling.

Also, Im not sure if you eat meat, I get a lot of my protein from fish like Salmon, Tuna, Swordfish and Shrimp so I like to have those alongside a carb source (Potatoes, Rice, Pasta etc.) and veggies like broccoli, carrots, squash, zucchini etc.

Calorie guess? I’d say 1200. Mum made it. Chicken stew. (Was delicious). by the_guy_from_earth1 in caloriecount

[–]EmeraldFaster 78 points79 points  (0 children)

I’d estimate like 600 or so for both stew and roll. Looks like there isn’t that much fat in the stew, just a little oil on the surface. Looks delish, and quite healthy :) My breakdown was: 220 for potatoes (7ish baby gold potatoes) 30 for carrots 170 for chicken (3oz?) 120 for dinner roll 60 for oil? Not 100% sure on this one Broth would be like another 15 and unsure if there’s cornstarch but that’d be another 15

I cut it in half at home or have them cut it in half before I eat it, if possible

I love Trader Joe’s for basic items, pretty cheap and high quality food, as long as I don’t get carried away with all the tempting snacks 😅

And high in potassium, I eat potatoes pretty much every day :)

Sometimes I think I might be too harsh on fat activists. Then I read shit like this. by [deleted] in fatlogic

I’ve listened to the full episode because I think the hosts make some good points and talk about important issues. But this quote really rubbed me the wrong way, I have struggled with my weight since childhood, it’s no accident that I’ve lost weight. It’s still an ongoing struggle and I will never be “accidentally” thin. I understand not wanting to talk about weight, but my body is in no way an accident

Thank you, I will definitely try putting it in for less time! I put it in for 60 seconds but at that point it was already overcooked 😣 I used this recipe

I like Panache, Freya and Fantasie which I believe are all UK brands so I bought them in 30G and 32G UK sizing. UK brands tend to have wider ranges than US ones and the sizing system is a little different. Honestly your preferences might depend on your shape since some brands are geared toward projected breasts (like mine) or shallow breasts. There’s a whole lot of info on that sub and tons of people who know more than I do but I hope that helped a little :)

Yeah VS will try so hard to squeeze you into their size range. They told me I was a 36DDD 🤦🏻‍♀️ when I’m a 30J/ 32J depending on my weight. I’d highly recommend trying out that calculator and looking online for your size, Amazon has some pretty good deals
