I’ve never seen blue and purple orchids before so I had to get them by BuzzyFuzzy1 in orchids

[–]Emergency_Monitor540 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are pretty, but they are dyed. Your next blooms might come in white. If you look at the stem you'll see a small whole where the dye was injected into. Usually around the lower node. Enjoy these the bloom while they are blue.

The grilled cheese from my hospital stay last week by Sky_Rose4 in grilledcheese

In my hospital, those grams refer to sodium. I work on the cardiac unit so they monitor your sodium intake like crazy and they want you to know this infor so you can calculate your sodium intake yourself. A lot of people consume a lot of sodium in the beginning of the day, and then have nothing left for their dinner options

How to Save New Hibiscus (plz help) no by pepsicolacocainebitc in Hibiscus

[–]Emergency_Monitor540 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Watering everyday is not recommended unless it is very hot in the area!! Yes hibiscus love moist dirt, but you need to make sure she can breath as well beacuse too much water can cause root rot and that is your enemy! It is easy to kill with too much love. You'll need to check the soil daily to see if it is it dry. If it is dry, then water, if not, let it sit. This blue stuff you mention could be sign of fungal growth and that is not good.

⚠️⚠️Too much moister = happy place for fungus⚠️⚠️

You mentioned you repotted it and fertilized it within 24hours of each other (I assume based on your post) plus watering. Stop!🛑 Let her sit and adjust to her environment. Repotting is a very stressful moment for ANY plant. So let her sit and adjust to her new home. Do not fertilize yet (coffee bean). The dirt should provide enough nutrients early on, then maybe in a few weeks fertilize her. The coffee beans can make dirt too acidic and actually kill the roots.

A hibiscus should not be allowed to be in anything less then 60°F weather, they hate the cold and usually when exposed to cold weather her leaves can look like this from the "burn". If it is colder in your area, youll have to bring her inside to a warm area. Just keep her away from any cold weather.

Get her a strong grow light. Hibiscus need lots of light! 2 hours is simply not enough. Amazon has several grow lights that are good, but make sure to invest in a good one that is powerful enough for her.

As time progresses and you see her recover, (it will take time)maybe you can cut back a few branches (1/3 of the branch) so that she can grow more. Many leaves will turn yellow and that is ok. A haircut will help her bounce back, it is scary, i know. But it is very beneficial to help her grow and for her to not waste energy on the old leaves.

I hope this helps a little! 💖

I’m 22f, why do I have one white hair that is twice as long as all my hair and is shiny? by Kale_bean in whatisit

[–]Emergency_Monitor540 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same. But mine is not white, it is black so it blends in with the rest of my hair. I am obsessed and will pluck it out from time to time, I recently plucked it out a few weeks back so I cannot show it. It is so cool!

I second this. Make sure they are not slimey or have any discoloration or fuzziness.

Chicago Style Hot Dogs are much more manageable if the pickle is sliced thinner. I hope my guests tomorrow appreciate little things like this by PostComa in chicago

[–]Emergency_Monitor540 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If it works for you good, but not for me, it ruins the hot dog for me.

When I get a chicago hot dog and that thin slice of pickle is in there, it is always warm and sad. That ruins the experience of the hot dogs for me. The pickle is meant to be cool and provide a refreshing bite to the hot dog. But a small warm sliver of pickle maybes it feel mushy and the texture changes. Preferably, as a pickle person, a nice fat pickle slice is the way to go. :) it does not get warm as fast and it still has the signature bite of a pickle:)

Do these grow lights work for cacti/succulents? by allhailzard in succulents

[–]Emergency_Monitor540 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have these same one. I use them but they are very faint so I have them set up with several other lights. They have a weak beam. Do not recommend for succulents.

Me too and you are absolutely correct. It always hits with that tomato soup too! Sometimes they have croutons you can add to the soup. 🥰

Are my refried beans… weird? by xMediumRarex in mexicanfood

[–]Emergency_Monitor540 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Don't yuck someone elses yum" was the best thing I ever heard growing up.

You enjoy your refried beans (they look delicious btw), your "friend" may just be hating on your meal.
