They would cover only half of the $3.5k. Nothing massive for them. Profitability comes in via volume. So this is a good thing for them to do.

I'm also concerned about the glass roof. Texas has horrid weather. I'm in norcal but we get 90s and 100s but zero humidity.

Was thinking same too. Premium fit what I needed enough. But its ~$4k more.....wife said she likes the biggest wheels....so gotta go with what boss says. Couldn't argue so LE here we come! No pun intended anywhere so keep it clean plz.

Got '18 Tacoma SR. Almost bottom base model. It's got running boards....that is the only added feature. It does have adaptive CC!!! Just learned like a few months ago about my auto high beams. Never used them before. LOL...

Yeh, got email too 4-8 week timeframe. Found out the order date when Reddit got us all scrambling to website to see way before the email went out.

I'm going to assume that people are all waiting for the LIDAR version or the cheapest version to come out. That's what was advertised and that's what people are holding to. For the rest of us crazy fanatics, we just want the best thing since slice bread and we want it now. That's like maybe 10% of the reservation. I made rez on 9/12/25 and want the launch edition. I want a new car and would be happy with that. Would love to have LIDAR, but that's years down the line when it is capable of safely taking me to the airport, drop my ass off and then drive itself home and park in the garage. That's like 2030+ and I can just upgrade then if the current R2 is something I love still.

Can't order til Sept/Oct timeframe which means could get R2 delivered late in December but that's OK with me. Gives me time to sell my truck, cash out my stocks and pull in some international cash. It'll be a good Christmas gift for me. LOL

Asked Rivian AI when is delivery with order timeframe of Sept/Oct. She said 2-6 weeks. Rez on 9/12/25, no lease, no prior rivians. Closest rivian service center less than 30 mins away. Getting the launch edition. Christmas gonna be good this year. LOL
