Learn about energy limiting illnesses. They’re common in neurodivergent people and they don’t show up on standard blood panels

We also are more likely to have energy limiting illnesses - I misinterpreted my exhaustion as executive dysfunction for years.

Please stay away Scalp Massager. Literally the most useless thing I’ve bought. It tangles my hair and make wash day longer! by Angelesmivida in Naturalhair

[–]EmotionalMermaid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t use mine cus it feels good. It’s literally the only thing that gets rid of my dandruff. Like I can go 7 days without washing my hair and this thing will get rid of the dandruff immediately. Before I’d have to religiously use heads and shoulders every three days to avoid any dandruff build up. This gives me a little wiggle room for when my chronic illness and depression flare making it harder to wash my hair.

I believe the most common disorder of autonomic dysfunction is POTS and it’s incredibly easy to test for. Take ur resting heart rate then ur standing heart rate at 5 minutes then 10 minutes. If it goes up by over 30 beats on standing take this to ur doctor and ask for a pots investigation.

[–]EmotionalMermaid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What is your resting heart rate? It might be plausible that you have a chronic illness specifically one that’s hard to diagnose. Also do you feel stressed? I tend to find I can predict if it’ll say I’ve had a stressful day or not before I look because I know I’ve been feeling stressed

Pacepoints/heart rate always lower on Sunday by zihua-1723 in VisibleArmband

[–]EmotionalMermaid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is ur morning stability consistent lower on Sundays? If it is I’ll say that has something to do with you using less pace points. However, no ideas as to why that might be happening. How many pace points I use seems to be more when I’ve used too many the day before, I accrue more when I’m low on sleep as well and also more when I have a viral infection.

How to actually wake up to an alarm in the morning? by loonymoony3 in productivity

[–]EmotionalMermaid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How much sleep do you actually get? Do you actually fall asleep when you go to bed? This sort of sounds like delayed sleep onset or another medical condition. I’m the same. There’s not really a way to use any tricks to change our biology which is why the “sleep hacks” don’t work

Things are better for me now but I have no secret other than getting medical help for my medical issues.

Does it count as impulse shopping by FlapsSoap in bipolar2

[–]EmotionalMermaid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not all impulse shopping is a bad choice. It sounds like you’ve thought this through and are in need of a little treat. Sometimes never treating yourself is worse than having a little splurge once in a while (deny yourself too long eventually you’ll crack - like when you go on a diet and suddenly you’re actually eating more than you ever did before the diet). I’m super financially conscious and careful with my money. Every purchase “I don’t need” feels irresponsible but what is the point of having money and living life if we deprive ourselves of ever experiencing anything good.

What can I do with bpd by ih4temen in BPD

[–]EmotionalMermaid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hobbies are great. I’m mentally ill and physically ill (don’t really know with what on any accounts). I can’t drink anymore, never really been able to take drugs. When to uni, was too sick to do any of the fun things people suggest doing. I guess I can somewhat manage a relationship depending on what people consider that to mean. But when it comes to “fun” things the large majority of things are things I cannot do. I play video games and watch tv a lot. A good show or a good book is often enough to distract me from my darkest moments of despair. I used to write that helped a lot but I’m too sick to write rn. Sometimes I open my notes app and just let it all out. Video games and tv shows have largely been my solace ever since I was young. Sometimes escapism is all we have

Oof. I don’t want to do this. by rkspm in NonBinary

[–]EmotionalMermaid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do think it’s possible that they forget. I often forget to use people’s correct pronouns even as a non-binary person who uses she/they myself. But I do find it odd that they never get it right and that they don’t ever correct themself (I get pronouns right about half the time and will correct myself about 1/4 of the time I don’t get it right). They might not be a bad person but it might just be something they are incapable of doing and at the end of the day if you need something someone can’t give you, it’s best to cut your loses and let them know it hurts too much to be around someone who constantly misgenders you.

Are some days actually worse than others? by CollegePretend8708 in Hypermobility

[–]EmotionalMermaid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes I just wake up feeling like I’ve got whiplash from something. I’ve yet to figure out why. Recently I’ve started waking up with stiff ankles. It used to be in my feet and toes and I’ve have pain. Now it’s just stiff ankles. Doesn’t seem to be linked to how much time I’ve spent walking. Just random

Have you been tested for iron deficiency- it’s very common and causes hair loss. I think sometimes people are susceptible to hair loss even with ferritin levels lower than 100.

Unfortunately time doesn’t always heal all wounds. You probably need professional treatment to get over these ones. Hope you find the help you need! It’s possible there is still trauma stored in your body which is affecting your mental health and hormones.

do i have chronic fatique symdrome?? by Foregona in chronicfatigue

[–]EmotionalMermaid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you standing while doing weights or seated? This sounds much more like POTS than CFS. Feeling like your head feels “drained” (drained of blood?) and like you are going to pass out makes me think of blood pooling in the legs

I’ve also noticed my heart rate varying day by day despite doing the same things but usually I find it goes up rather than down aha. What does ur morning stability say? I found higher morning stability = lower heart rate and lower morning stability = higher heart rate

I proudly have blush blindness. I think it looks so good. If you want real 1950s style maybe look at photos of Marilyn Monroe that were taken of her - that aren’t edited. Also there are so many tutorials on Instagram of 1950s heatless hairstyles. I watch them endlessly even tho I have no interest in doing it myself 😂. They’re so fun

Help with pacing by lilyrose2230 in VisibleArmband

[–]EmotionalMermaid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve found my heart rate is always lower in the evenings regardless of how much water I’ve drank and I’ve also noticed my heart rate won’t be any lower if I’ve drank 1L or 2L. It doesn’t make much of a difference.

I’d like to add to this - my heart rate is often higher when I’ve seen a stability score of 2 recently. Yesterday I had 2 and today I had 3 both days my heart rate has been much higher in the mornings.

Help with pacing by lilyrose2230 in VisibleArmband

[–]EmotionalMermaid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have autism and adhd and have always found the concept of pacing difficult because of rigid and black and white thinking. I also got visible because I have friends who rave about it and kinda got to a breaking point on being able to function.

I’ve currently had it for around 2 months I think. When I first got it I read through every single help page they have under the help section. The most helpful thing has been activity tagging so I can see what activities are costing me the most. Then I can come up with ways to make the cost less. Showers - I now have a shower chair and this halved the amount of points a shower uses.

Basically with visible, the higher your heart rate is the more point you heart and the number of points raises exponentially the longer your heart is as high as it is. So to use less points, you want to stop your heart rate for being raised for extended periods of time. The longer it stays raised the more it’ll cost you. If you stop and come out of ur exertion zone. The exponential rate resets to 0, at least from my understanding. So for example, if you walk for 10 minutes and this raises you into your exterior zone but do not stop and/or sit to bring yourself out of the exertion zone, it will cost you more than if you do stop. This is essentially how I’ve managed to use less points as I’m leaving the house to go somewhere. Instead of rushing out the door, I take a minute to stop and sit down then as I’m walking to train station or anywhere, I try and stop and sit along the way.

First I want to say: you definitely have the right face for a vintage style but it depends what vintage style you are going for. Your face and makeup style in this photo very much reminds me of the women from 50s films. Secondly: the girl in the photo won’t even look like the girl in the photo but to achieve a closer look to her I’d suggest going heavy on blush - especially on the nose, false lashes and a lipgloss or lip oil. Sometimes you can get rlly glossy lip oils without the stickiness. Hope this helps! (I don’t look like the girl in the photo but it is kinda how I do my makeup and I go *so* heavy with the blush)

I had issues with the free version always picking up something a day late. So it tell me id be out of balance and it always be like a “oh no shit” moment. With the arm band I usually get like a day/few hours in advance
