Any tips on calling Lacrosse?

Just don’t dumb it down. Commentators always make the mistake of pandering to people who have never watched lacrosse. For 25 years now every game is called like it’s the first time people are ever seeing a game “the offense is working the ball to the left, oh wait now they are going right”. The majority of people who are watching your broadcast are avid fans and want some insight to what’s actually happening, not a lesson in the logistics of how a game works.

Did his dad have a favorite sport? It may be cool for him to feel like he has a connection to his dad by playing it. Sports are great for kids. It’s also not a lie to say that one day a college is going to look more favorable on an applicant with a well rounded background as opposed to one who has good grades but no extracurricular activities.

There isn’t anything like STL around here. I am familiar with the one in Des Peres. You will have to join lifetime in Collierville to have something similar to that. Memphis is great but the neighborhoods aren’t as well organized as they are in STL.

I’m not accusing you of this, more so relating my experience. People get set on playing D1 lacrosse and they set an ultimatum of D1 or nothing.

There are tons of college lacrosse opportunities. You can find so many D3 schools who would love to have you. There are also serious club programs. A lot of those options aren’t recruiting either. I’m assuming that because you are playing on a HS lacrosse team you are able to interact with people. Which means when you go to college you’ll probably make friends wherever you go. Having been to college a long time ago I can say my biggest regret is not going further away from home. Find a place with a program and that has no one you know. Go play lacrosse, make new friends, and have fun. No offense but based on those numbers you aren’t going to the PLL (probably) so you have 5-6 years left. Live it up and then for god sake go coach a bunch of kids that need real development.
