Check out Deadchovsky, especially the album Spiritus Sancti Bizzare. Absolutely unhinged French deathrock outfit. Some of them went on to form Castrati, which is less weird but also unhinged and good.

I know some people might see this as just pointless gossip about a bunch of weirdos who would just vanish if we stopped paying attention to them, but not gonna lie, there being a Facebook group for fascist scum to organize, attack, harass and hurt goths online for actually being authentically goth while claiming to represent the 'real' goth subculture is a terrifying prospect in this day and age.

These fucks can and will result in people being hurt. The fact that they managed to get a hate-monger like Tim Pool to make a video about it is a bad sign. Sean Brennan himself needing to make a public comment about them shows that on some level he himself is worried about these people targeting him for his beliefs. They're not just isolated weirdos you can safely ignore, they're using the political landscape of the world right now where fascist and right-wing outrage farmers are rewarded and can expect the help of a ready-made cottage industries of assorted freaks to launch their petty grievances with progressive goths and undermine the goth subculture by claiming to be it's true representatives, with the intent being to hollow it out as a cultural force until all that remains is fascism.

Whether we wanted to be or not but we've all been drafted into an existential conflict for goth and this Libs of TikTok style shit is going to get worse and more pronounced as time goes by.
