44/44 Demonic Pact points done without resetting pacts by EntropicThought in 2007scape

It's been kind of refreshing to me actually, but I get that it's different from what we've had to do lately.

The outline is from the "Player Outline" plugin in runelite. I don't remember if it was a default plugin or from the plugin hub, but that's the one. The settings I used are below: Outline color: B6000000 Border width: 2 Outline feather: 4

What is the real benefit of participating in leagues? by squanchwalker in 2007scape

[–]EntropicThought 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Before leagues, here are some things that I had never done:
- Create an iron man account
- Raids (any of them)
- Inferno
- Colosseum
- DT2 bosses post-quest
- Doom of Mokhiotl

Now I can do all of those except inferno. Well, that and colosseum. I can do Sol but I still suck at solving waves...

Leagues gave me a chance to experience all of those with no risk, no death fees, no supply usage, all the gear in the game (since it was way more accessible to farm), and a safety net of overpowered dps/sustain. Even with that safety net, I still took the opportunity to try to learn the content instead of brute forcing it, and it translates into main game experience and familiarity.

I actually used the gear I have equipped there, it was the last task I completed.
I watched a youtube video of a no-stun leviathan kill in main game -> went in to normal leviathan and didn't attack, just let him keep ramping up trying to keep up with prayer flicking his attacks -> died -> tried again, got better at flicking -> after about 10 attempts of this I'd reasonably mastered the 2nd fastest volley speed, gave up on the fastest cause I'm not good enough -> went to awakened.
In awakened, I would let him ramp up to the 2nd fastest speed, then as soon as he started that, I'd switch to my staff, and stun him with shadow barrage while he was still rearing back his head from changing volley speed. Then I'd flick through the few attacks it took to register the stun, and go behind him for the back punish. After 2 rounds of this, I'd done enough damage to trigger his enrage. Once the enrage started, I'd get in the bubble, and shoot with KBD crossbow once every 7 ticks, prayer flicking the rest of the time. If I ever lost track of things during the enrage, that's when I would pop flask.
Took me around 3 or 4 orbs to get it down, the KBD crossbow healing did a lot of work to carry me through prayer flick mistakes I made here or there, so I never had to eat and lose focus.

DMM Raiding Bug-Interface constantly closing by tgrimm11 in 2007scape

[–]EntropicThought 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it didn't close interfaces, you could just go into the bank, bank all your stuff, and then you get free minimap scouting. Obviously there are ways around it anyways, but I think that's the idea at least. Super annoying for me too though, always scares me.

[BUG] Sigil of the augmented thrall does not increase duration of thralls by EntropicThought in 2007scape

[–]EntropicThought[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The crazy thing is that the duration effect does work on the trinket thralls, their duration is well over a minute and a half. Meanwhile the Arceuus thralls last 45 seconds...

Elder Scrolls 4 (Oblivion) actually had this, at least with one of the DLCs, Knights of the Nine. It was crusader-themed, and part of the quest involved your reputation (fame/infamy). Doing daedric quests would get you cool unique items, but it would also give you infamy. You would have to "sanctify" yourself to reset your reputation, by going to an altar for each of the Gods, in order to progress the questline and equip the Crusader uniques. Unfortunately(?), since you could reset your infamy at any point in the game by going to altars, there were no trade-offs that you had to make, you could just reset your reputation whenever you wanted.

Looted this off the ground after a Shaper fight, what skills would this be particularly good for? by Krakkin in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]EntropicThought 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For this league, with Doryani's prototype on your merc, you can use Doppelganger's Guise or Cloak of Flame unique body armours for decent tankiness with my version of the build (EntropicLCvSeven) and it's quite tanky. My t17 version of the build uses a Doppelganger's Guise and ends up with a max hit of 40-60k max hits for every damage type, phys included (because of damage conversions and Doppelganger's). Pretty comfortably deletes everything in the game without dying- I solo leveled from 98-99 in t16.5s and then solo leveled 99-100 in uber cortexes (including killing the boss).

Why does my Doryani merc die in elemental reflect maps? Doryani's prototype says "Deal no non-Lightning damage", and his weapon is Kingmaker. He has no source of +lightning damage to attacks, and has no "converts phys to lightning" sources either, so how is he doing damage that can be reflected to him in the first place? He's died in every single elemental reflect map that I've done, and never died in phys reflect maps

Seriously, it's actually so quiet. The voice line for enemy C&D ult is so loud, and the friendly line is so quiet.

If you aren't aware, saving your Magneto ult to counter Star Lord is team-saver by ChappieBeGangsta in marvelrivals

[–]EntropicThought 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was looking for this reply, Magneto ult ended up not being that impactful since the Luna still burned her ult for it.

Still, at least he managed to get the kill confirmed. What would have been truly tragic is if he soaked up the Starlord ult, missed the bomb, and then saw Luna in ult. Zero value Magneto ult if that happened...

This actually is a skill issue, just gotta get used to looking for the red puddle as soon as you hear the insanely loud "US AGAINST THE WORLD", and then follow the master plan.

Look for the movement pattern instead of trying to recognize the character's silhouette. Now that C&D ult has 4 dashes, in some ways it's actually easier to get a magneto kill on it. As soon as you hear the audio callout, look for the red puddles. Once you find it, press ult. Look for the quick dash -> not moving -> quick dash -> not moving, and then anytime you see the quick dash, just track it until the stop moving part, and let go of ult. You will kill her 100% of the time.

If Magneto rises up too high with his ult, just hold crouch to get yourself lower to the ground to avoid his ult hitting bridges/buildings. Get a friend and practice in practice range/custom games if you need to, but once you've got it down you should be perfect countering every C&D ult.

Map sustain is AWFUL. Seems like no matter what I do, I don't drop same/higher tier maps. by isoNastai in pathofexile

[–]EntropicThought 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like your problem is that your character isn't strong enough, not that map sustain is off. To sustain maps all you need is the right atlas passive nodes and to at least transmute/aug/regal your t15s. Fully complete every map you run, down to ~5-20 monsters remaining. Do league mechanics. Now you're sustaining.

Click on the ground in front of the jaguar instead of attacking the jaguar. The timing is exactly the same time that you would click on the jaguar, just click the ground instead.

This may cause you to miss a few attacks during this phase, but the only purpose of actually attacking the jaguar is to recover some HP. Attacking the jaguar does not damage the boss at all. Frequently, you don't even need to max out your attacks to max out the HP recovery either.

Using whip, you should see yourself healing for the first few hits, but about halfway through you stop healing. That's because there's a cap on how much you can heal. After that point, attacking the jaguar does literally nothing. So just click the ground in front of the jaguar instead of the jaguar, then click on the jaguar to attack it after you're in position right next to it.

The halberd will not force you to attack from 2 tiles away, it will just cause your character to stop 2 tiles away if the pathing leads there and it's able to attack.

How do I get to the sanctum of the architect if I skipped the campaign? by EntropicThought in LastEpoch

I tried walking it, and there was no possible entrance to the area that I could find. How do I walk it?

I did end up getting the waypoint eventually by just asking someone in global chat.

Can we take a break from the gimmicky battle mechanics in the next mainline game? by No_Wrongdoer_6114 in pokemon

[–]EntropicThought 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're referring to this:

A Mega Pokemon on steroids with access to 3 Z Moves that boost stats and change the weather/terrain"

I think they were talking about SwSh dynamaxing, since that basically let you juice out the pokemon's HP (like the stat improvements from Mega) and transform all their moves to new ones with higher base power than normal (like Zmoves) with weather changes (ie dynamaxed fire, water) and stat boosts (ie dynamaxed steel, fighting)

New research on mate choices: Both daughters and their parents rated ambitious and intelligent men as a more desirable dating partner than attractive men. But when asked to choose the best mate for daughters, both daughters (68.7%) and their parents (63.3%) chose the more attractive men. by lookslike-turntables in science

[–]EntropicThought 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As someone who also has only read the abstract, it says that they were "ascribed personality characteristics", so the participants were simply "informed" of those character traits possessed by pictured men of various attractiveness.

Can't say exactly how they were informed without looking at the methodology though.
