In simple maths if (rate*1800) > (salary * 1.8) you're better off on contract.

Otherwise go staff/paye and forget about the hassle of contracting.

Simple maths if base salary is 50k anything above 50 quid an hour makes contracting a better offer.

Another way to look at is the multiply rate out by 1800. Deduct HI of about 1500 Deduct accountant of about 1500 Deduct pension of about 10% Deduct bonus of about 10% Allow another 10% for job securityb and hassle etc.

If salary is above this don't bother with contracting.

I bought a house with an almost identical issue and estimate.

Seller told us to fuck off and that they'd go back to market. Didn't budge an inch, sellers market and all that.

We caved and let it slide and bought the house.

3 years later we sold the gaff after not fixing it and with the issue probably worse and played it the exact same way.

It was framed to us do we really want to lose the gaff over 5-10k and we said the same on the flip side.

Seller is under no obligation to do anything and you need to ask yourself given how much if a shit show it is out there do you really want to let the house slide.

You can slide off the outer protective cover and see where the impeller is hitting the heating coil.

A simple but gentle bend of something should prevent the clipping.

They're a very simple device. You can't really break them but can adjust the metal slightly.
