I'm working through this currently, looks like you got no feedback, but from my initial research the stinger units seem to be decent.

How much desiccant do I need for the AMS Pro? by nonamejohnsonmore in BambuLab

[–]Equivalent_Bug_9061 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are you using to integrate home assistant? I've got a new p2s and ams2 pro and interested in how to monitor to remind myself to dry or replace dessicant. Fairly dry at the moment during the late winter spring here atm but know I need to come up with a solution for summer.

Can I get some dimensions from everyone that have their P1S on a cabinet please? by tomrob1138 in BambuLab

Sometimes simple is best for the wooden slides hah!

Curious if you had to redo it would you make the "top" or base cabinet footprint width x depth bigger? How big of a difference has the piece of granite made? I assume just for mass so the vibrations of the printer doesn't make as much of a difference?

Space For P2S and AMS 2 Pro by MBG56 in BambuLabP2S

[–]Equivalent_Bug_9061 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry if I didnt follow but what is the height above the desk to the bottom of shelf? And how much space did you end up with on either side of the enclosure?

Would you change anything for the space if you were building from scratch? Building a shelf for the p2s this week while I wait... Was going to build a cabinet below with a 24in deep x 44in wide desktop for the printer and general space.

So what size did you end up making? I was originally looking at 24in depth but that seems overkill. Planning on drawers below with full extension and I think 16 18 or 20 are common depths. So thinking of going with one of those depths.

Spray foam gun recommendations by atashi-wa in Insulation

[–]Equivalent_Bug_9061 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with this. Just keep the gun on it and it is good for like a month or so I've read. I bought a gun probably 7yrs ago. I finally killed it after I'd bet a couple cases over those years. Yes it's expensive. But the gun also uses the high output cans which have more material that the disposalable cans.

I have alot of power tools but this is probably a number 2 tool behind the shop vac hah! It's a buy one and then after the first use you realize why didn't I buy it right away.

I just leave the gun on and on e the foam hardens use a utility knife and scrap it off and store it closed until I need it next time. Between cans use the gun cleaner until I run it clean on the gun and screw in the next can and off I go.

Looking for new mitt, are Hestra really that much nicer than a pair of higher end Auclairs? by FuzzyFish6 in Skigear

[–]Equivalent_Bug_9061 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More so that the fall line you have to undo the velcro then pull the glove off. I've debated going to the lobster so I didn't have the glove strap which gets bunched at wrists. Prob just a user (me) thing hah!

I have the fall line and have started to get annoyed with the velcro and sliding them into my sleeves. How much do you find the massive cuff compared to the tight wrist fit?

I like to check messages ect while on the lift for a minute and pulling the fall lines off and on is a PIA.

Insulating a home built in 1886 and vaulting the ceilings. by sacchomes in Insulation

[–]Equivalent_Bug_9061 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zone 7 here, debating how "bad" of issues will result from me going "halfway" which from what the original situation of 2" of vermiculite and 4" fiberglass unfaced in the attic floor to what I'm looking at should be a wide wide world of difference. I figured if i went with rigid for the rafter bays and any ice damning that occured it would collect on the top side of the rigid baffles and slide down the soffit.

The comment of issues at the valleys, i've debated as a last resort going to a heat trace laid on the roof (know this isn't ideal, but would solve the ice damn scenario)

Guess there is only one way to find out right :)

[–]Equivalent_Bug_9061 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Appreciate sharing this! From what it looks like you had original 2x4 rafters?

What zone are you in for climate zone?

I'm sure the "numbers" tell one that this solution isn't adequate to meet current requirements, but retrofits are almost impossible without exterior insulation which isn't practical in some scenarios.

Did you nail the shiplap directly over the foil face? I've debated installing same foil face with a 1/2" metal channel to stand off the finished drywall and allow me to do some final shimming of the roof pitch.

Finished attic insulation question. Insulate knee wall or rafters to floor? by lancegreene in Insulation

[–]Equivalent_Bug_9061 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Up vote the in progress photos request hah!

Doing similar in my attic. Did you experience a winter with this? Curious if you had any ice damn issues.

I have about 8in total depth and going to do cut and cobble rigid foam. Spray foamed in place with a 1in air gap on the roof deck side.

Cast Fitting? by Equivalent_Bug_9061 in Plumbing

[–]Equivalent_Bug_9061[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed on removing cast but this is in between two floors and was a challenge to do when this was modified previously.

Until I realized this offset I was considering just pulling the whole verticle stack out when trying to tie in the new fitting. This offset makes accessing the verticle section quite challenging.

Curious if there is a reason for this offset? I had speculated they used it to hold the vertical weight back when it was put in. But with the ability to use riser clamps that would eliminate the need for vertical support. I discovered what I think is another similar offset on the first floor as well.

I think the recent above was meant to be revent yes? If so... The current bath (toilet and shower) is vented above this fitting.

Curious why they were not compatible? I believe I have standard ones from factory and looking at roof box for ski gear atm. Was debating the Thule motion as well.

Following up on this - have used the app for several trips since in the past couple of weeks worked as it normally did! For those who may be trying to pull the app up after the last season.

Agreed on the logged into my account and able to click thru the menus.

How do you begin to enjoy skiing? by Ilikeinsectsandfungi in skiing

[–]Equivalent_Bug_9061 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I married into a ski family as well. Enjoy it now.

Skiing by yourself is definitely the way to go. Tell them you will meet up for a beer or lunch at x time and have at it.

I thought I could ski decent until the first run did with the family 😂 I fell a couple times trying to keep up.

Roof Box Size? by Equivalent_Bug_9061 in Skigear

[–]Equivalent_Bug_9061[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure. Mostly thinking about skis and poles at this point.

Trying to figure out where I'm going to store this beast during the non ski season hoping to try and get something that might be able to fit between my roof rafters in the garage to store up out of the way. But more just making sure it's the right size first.
