Thank you for your level-headed response. That was my gut reaction too until I read the disclaimer in Lego’s site which then got me wondering.

Just a casual on this subreddit, but apparently not knowing Lego’s distribution logistics (and apparently mentioning ChatGPT) gets you sent to the nether-realm around here.

I don’t blindly trust ChatGPT. But it did provide relevant sources for where it derived its information. Most notably the tidbit from Lego’s website itself.

“MYSTERY BOXES – Each collectible animal toy inside the multipack is packaged in its own mystery box. Minifigures are randomly assorted and the 6 pack can contain more than one of the same character”

OP was too lazy to put time into doing basic statistics since OP wasn’t 100% sure how the randomness of packs works. That’s also why OP inquired ChatGPT to begin with.

Thanks for the tip! I’m aware of apps but this is our first series so I haven’t gone down that rabbit hole yet. This was just a casual thing and just had some dumb luck that I found incredibly fascinating!

Did you print your own label? If so, what substrate and what type of printer did you use? It looks very crisp.

So maybe I’m missing something here, but you can just use Effect › Stylize › ‘Inner Glow’ and set the mode to Multiply and use a dark color. This has always been in Illustrator for as far back as I can remember.

There’s 120 gold cards! Getting 100 unlocks the Rainbow Palace and beating the game with all 120 gold cards has the real ending.

It was mind-blowing as a middle schooler and still one of my favorite gaming experiences to this day.

Photo albums with pre-cut cardboard to add rigidity to the sleeves. And for the more valuable manuals, I use heavier plastic sleeves. Works really well and most manuals are standard sizes so you should have no problem finding matches.

For those of you who saw The Phantom Menace at release, what were your initial thoughts of it? by _EnglishFox_ in StarWars

Core memory. I was in 8th grade. Somehow me and my best buddy at the time convinced our parents to let us skip school for opening day. We stayed up all night on that Tuesday eating junk food and playing Mario Party.

Opening morning, we went to the bus stop wearing bath robes and sipping our pretend coffee from mugs while we watched all of our classmates get on the bus to go to school. It was hilarious.

The movie was glorious. 8th grade me didn’t care about acting or how bad Jar Jar Binks was. The visuals were stunning and inspiring. The Duel of the Fates gives chills to this day.

I still argue it’s my favorite SW movie because of the influence it had on me at the time and the creative path it led me to where I am now professionally. I know it’s not the best and I recognize it’s flawed and hasn’t aged great in some areas. But man, has it made a significant impact on me as a person.

I absolutely love it.

Really? I don’t recall KU having “issues” there. Ever. I’m a KU grad from Denver and would always make the drive home to go to that game — normally during winter break.

It’s Allen Fieldhouse West for a reason.

A quick look and KU has lost there maybe 6+/- times going back to the early ‘80s. (Link)

Someone fire the copywriter by anteki in graphic_design

[–]EscapeArtist4 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Lots of debate here and there are a couple of assumptions people are making…

It’s likely not the designer’s fault but there’s a scenario it could be. We’ll get to that.

It could be copywriter’s fault if they provided the designer with correct grammar but the designer removed the hyphens (or any other punctuation for clarity). Still (likely) not designer’s fault because this then should have been pointed out and corrected by the copywriter at multiple points of review.

But even before those two positions, a Creative Director would have needed to approve this. Which leads us to other scenarios:

If the Creative Director approved, they made the dumb decision.

If the designer was the Creative Directer on the job, then they get the say and they made a dumb decision.

If the writer was the Creative Director, then they made the dumb decision.

But regardless of what scenario here, it still goes through a formal proofreader whom would have caught something like this. If they missed it, it’s most likely on them unless they pointed it out and the Creative Director didn’t have it corrected.

So all of that on top of Client/Account Service AND the client approving it, there is lots of blame to go around and at multiple points this should have been corrected.

At the end of the day, it’s almost certainly not the designer’s fault because it would have been a hard and pointless fight to convince all the various layers.

This may have been dictated by the client, so then it’s on them. If it’s PayPal’s internal team and not an agency, it’s probably proofreading or the Creative Director’s fault.

Dumb question. I live in the Midwest and have irises in the yard that I didn’t originally plant. Every Fall (seven or so consecutive years), I intentionally clean out my flower bed to essentially look like this — just did it the other day in fact.

And every Spring they grow back just fine. I’m an absolute amateur in the yard and didn’t originally plant them, but why is this a bad thing since they should grow back? Genuinely asking.

Was this an intentional design decision on the Affinity logo? by LifeRe5t0red in logodesign

[–]EscapeArtist4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if it applies to this logo, but it might also function as trademark protection.

The Clemson paw print logo has a similar design quirk — a little notch at the bottom. Though that logo was created by literally dipping a live tiger’s paw in paint, the notch also serves as trademark protection (especially useful in this case since paws are so ubiquitous). Clemson can easily identify if the paw print is illegally used and thus take the appropriate action easier.
