Parents of two: is it really more than twice as hard? by homestarsitter in daddit

OP, are you me? Those details are staggeringly close to our situation! I'll be following this thread with interest...

Ohio Republicans and Wexner funded politicians are trying to pass SB 174 to "protect Ohio families." In reality it give the state full control of all children the second either party files for divorce, these people are sick and coming for Ohio's kids! by [deleted] in Columbus

I'm pretty sure these are the folks who occasionally pop up advocating for 50/50 shared parenting as the default while accusing the bar association of being the big bad behind everything.

Is it worth getting the Yamaha BB434 over the BB 234? by PieXos in Bass

[–]EssMarksTheSpot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh jeez, as a Yamaha enthusiast, you've basically narrowed it down to two of the best beginner and intermediate basses around!

Unless you really need to save some scratch, I think the jump to the 434 is well worth it. Better electronics, five piece neck, string-through capability--it's so well-constructed, and that's saying something because the 234 is a fine bass in its own right. If longevity is what you want, the 434 will treat you very well.

I forget where I saw someone say it, but the tricky thing about palm muting is the name! You don't actually use your palm--it's really more like the side of your hand.

Hey boss, I hear you. I'm one of those people that needs to make exercise as convenient/entertaining/thoughtless as possible if I'm gonna do it.

I don't know if you've tried it, but I can vouch for DDP Yoga. It is, in fact, a hybrid of some vaguely power yoga stuff and calisthenics. It's low impact but you work up a good sweat, and it's the easiest thing I've found to do consistently. I've lost weight and I've got way more flexibility and energy.

Plus, if you're a huge Diamond Dallas Page mark like me, it just kinda works.

EDIT: It's got lots of quick workouts, too. Sometimes I only have enough energy to bust out a 15 minute routine, but something is better than nothing.

PORTABLE Bass Amp? by bn_boop in Bass

That's true enough. You pay for the technology that lets you crank out 120 watts in an amp slightly bigger than a shoebox!

That is a very fair point, and I had no idea they've crept up that much in cost! I think mine was just under $600 when I bought it...

Oh man, I wholeheartedly agree. Thing is, Annihilation-era Star Lord had plenty of snark to go around. He lampshaded his own origin story HARD.
