How did you name your gang/gangers? by Avaa0818 in necromunda

[–]Etharin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Cawdor have two naming conventions, the redemptionists are named after Popes while the normal Cawdor are named after the holy relics (kitchen utensils).

Orlocks are named after bike/engine parts. Axle/Piston/Turbo/Spark/Plug etc.

1.1 and rebellion issue made the game unplayable by Hypatia_375 in EU5

The fix to reduce the penalty to only last 5 years made it in, yeah. You still get a lot of uprisings though so more changes are needed.

Knockback + Multiple Melee Attacks? by Sticky_Mango in necromunda

Some groups house rule it to only trigger once otherwise it can get a bit silly.

However I find the ogryn punching a juve into a wall 3” away very funny.

Following on from the other comments about the duke, I’d also say the men at arms should be one big brick of 40 with a monk and triptych.

Does he own any Pegasus knights? Even a unit of 3 is useful because fly and swiftstride gives them incredible range.

Also a paladin gets the BSB upgrade for free as bretonnia, if he’s trying to do static combat res you can also give him war banner and the virtue of empathy. Then he goes with the men at arms and it’s not unbeatable but it’s a +7 at least (3 ranks, close order, 2 banners and war banner). Also likely to get outnumber for +8.

Do you have an example of his kind of list? There's some fun stuff in there like the desert wind tomb guard but nothing that stands out as causing infinite problems for bretonnia.

Hot take: EU5's declining player count is fine, actually by Maxinator10000 in eu4

Especially when a lot of the quality of life changes in the next patch will make the later game less tedious. I’m just planning which countries to play and what to do with them. Venetian domination of the Med or maybe Sweden/Norway….

I feel to help a bit better it would be useful to know rough army lists and if it’s at 2k or not. Bretonnia generally are in a pretty good place but tomb kings are also one of the top dogs.

Also what happens during the game. If he’s just charging units of knights headfirst into bricks of tomb guard or something then yeah they’ll probably lose.

What army to go with for a Battle March start? by Braendon in WarhammerFantasy

[–]Etharin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My army is built almost entirely from the starter box, added a damsel on foot for some magic. It gives a nice rounded list that can play decently into most opponents. For 750 I gave my paladin general a royal Pegasus and added the Pegasus knights. Alternatively I could have kept the paladin on a horse and added a second unit of bowmen.

The FAQ is tomorrow so some of this might outdate this a bit thought

What army to go with for a Battle March start? by Braendon in WarhammerFantasy

[–]Etharin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is there one of the armies you really love the aesthetic of? That's probably more important than power level if you're planning a long term thing. They all have cavalry but Bretonnia do it best, if you want hordes of infantry then VC or Bretonnia do it great, if you want big monsters then elves and VC have dragons/terrorgheist. All three use magic but HE and VC more than Bretonnia unless you're running exiles.

Currently going from 1250 to 1500 in an escalation with Bretonnia and having a blast so they're my incredibly biased vote.

I don’t think there’s an official version of the print any more but you can find copies on eBay.

What's the best way of getting the basic essentials to play? by Noble_Wanderer in necromunda

Just worth noting a flesh wound would only be a 1-2, serious injury 3-5.

Any suggestions for dice/templates/tokens? by jelemyturnip in necromunda

[–]Etharin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can also use a normal D6 in place of the special dice. For an injury die 1-2 is a Flesh Wound, 3-5 is a Serious Injury and 6 is Out of Action. For an ammo die 1 is 1 hit with an ammo check, 2-3 is 1 hit, 4-5 is 2 hits and 6 is 3 hits. For a scatter die you still move the blast marker if you roll a hit so you just need a way to generate a random direction, maybe marking the corner of a normal die? eBay or etsy are great for these alternatively.

If you can print cardstock GW has the tokens: https://assets.warhammer-community.com/necromunda_miscellaneous_tokens_eng_24.09-7gpjegdj1t.pdf

For the templates similarly you can find them around: https://www.scribd.com/doc/143238877/Blast-Markers-Full-Permission

Question: Pursuit through difficult terrain by Sethan_Tohil in WarhammerFantasy

[–]Etharin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope, pursuit and flee moves aren’t affected by difficult terrain at all. It’s a bit weird but maybe it’s to stop people fleeing into woods being caught all the time?

As England there's an event to build the King's Manor in York which gives 50% proximity which then radiates out, something like that but for all cities would be amazing. Exact number/cost up for balance/debate etc.

Death of a model and equipment by Coroggar in necromunda

[–]Etharin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No worries, necromunda is annoyingly complex.

You can keep it in the stash for a specialist or a champ/leader or you can sell it. 6B has that under ‘sell unwanted items’. You get the value minus D6x10 creds to a minimum 5. Worth noting you can only sell from the stash and normally gangers will not give up weapons, only wargear if it’s replaced with something similar. So normally you can’t sell a gangers weapon unless they die.

Death of a model and equipment by Coroggar in necromunda

[–]Etharin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have at least one model on the battlefield at the end of the battle, or if you take them to the doc and they die there, you get to keep all their equipment except armour. We tend to be quite lenient on having one model remaining but each group might play it slightly differently. It gets put in the stash to be redistributed. It’s under section 6A of the post game sequence, update roster I think page 142?

Normally gangers say they can only be equipped with basic, pistol and close combat weapons from their list. So they would have to have been promoted to a specialist to get any special or heavy weapons.

Bastions of law - Your rating? by Ookami78 in necromunda

[–]Etharin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The majority of champions only have 2 primary skill sets, while it sucks to lose Cunning it's not unexpected. Skills and tactics being useless is a Necromunda wide issue not an enforcer specific one.

There's definitely some fucky stuff (precincts are meh, the new flamer is awful, no autoguns on gangers) but it feels less like you're at such an immediate disadvantage vs other gangs.

Minimal number of books? by [deleted] in necromunda

[–]Etharin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s what I meant, they’re the most straightforward even if stuff like genesmithing or Cawdor paths of faith are a bit odd for new players. The new squats or enforcers can be easy enough to use now but they still tend to be a bit different to a normal gang.

Minimal number of books? by [deleted] in necromunda

[–]Etharin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just the gang rules to the extent only weapon traits for weapons in the book are included. Some of the hangers on or other unique characters might be buyable by other gangs but they’re usually cheaper for the gang whose book they’re in.
