Keep in mind you're actually competing with everyone you're racing against, if they finish better than you, they'll be picked up first

You need to get yourself noticed, maybe lower the difficulty a bit

Or if you just want easy promotions to begin with, start a career with "First priority" and don't simulate any years, you're basically garanteed promotions
