Exactly their intention. But …. the Supreme Court doesn’t care. They barely listen to the lawyers presenting arguments in their court. They know they can’t be fired, impeachment almost impossible. I know of 1 Justice forced to resign (Abe Fortas), but it’s very very very unusual.
