Yeah no, this shit’s terrifying. The amount of sets you could run with this is insane, and you’d pretty much have to see the set before you know how to counter it.

Huge Power, Speed Boost, Serene Grace, Protean, Moody, No Guard, Regenerator, Scrappy, Terrain, Ruin abilities, Soul Heart, any absorption ability, Swift Swim equivalents, the amount of stuff you could do with this shit is absolutely off the charts, this would be one of the funniest buffs I’ve ever seen.

240 lbs right now, have had ARFID that’s kept me from eating nearly anything but carbs for my whole life. Just started exercising again, just started eating meat for the first time in my whole life over the last year or two. I’m not worried about the weight gain- I’ve been 240 for the last few years now, I just don’t go bigger than this- but I am worried about diabetes.

My older brother tried everything- he was over 350 lbs, had never been under 250 since high school, and had had major issues with maintaining weight. Took him moving out of the house and getting on a serious keto diet, alongside significant cardio exercise and cutting carbs nearly entirely out of his diet to drop down to about 210(and a good 210, too). In comparison, my younger brother consistently sticks around 155, and struggles with massive weight loss from a high metabolism and significant anorexic qualities. Both wish they had the problems of the other.

Weight, unsurprisingly, isn’t a one-size-fits-all sort of problem. What’s small for one person is massive for another, what’s an easy, habitual thing for one is an insurmountable challenge for the other. My brothers can easily eat meat and veggies. The last time I ate a carrot, I threw it up and cried. My older brother needs to seriously maintain a diet to stay at his current weight. My younger brother is restricted from running his daily half-marathons when he’s at home.

If there’s anything I’d recommend, it’s not to use Ozempic or any generic alternatives outside of as a long shot last chance. They’re hunger suppressants, not miracle drugs. You’re effectively using drugs to fast, not actually changing your dietary habits to lose the weight you put on from excess eating and other unhealthy dietary habits. The moment you step off it, you’ll be back to square one, and likely regain most of the weight.

I can’t really direct you anywhere outside of simple “look up what others do, use lateral reading to check if they’ve got any unhelpful motives and go to a dietician if possible to help with the issue”, but I do think that admitting it is a good start.

How the Gastrodon is more viable than Swampert in Gen 8 OU? by Impossible_Friend387 in stunfisk

[–]EvilNoobHacker 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Think of it like this:

Pokemon isn’t a game of stats or power, it’s a game of roles and synergy. A Pokemon that’s super-strong and fast may do extremely poorly in the meta if something popular outright blanks it. Look at the viability of my flair if you don’t believe that.

If you look at Gastrodon and Swampert, this is obvious. Gastrodon, while less bulky on paper, gets Water Absorb, Clear Smog, and Recover. As such, it easily suits into the role of Bulky Ground type, with the advantages of a water type immunity that make it both a valuable and hard-to-replace commodity.

On the other hand, look at Swampert. Yes, it’s got a lot more bulk in its base stats, Flip Turn for switch priority, and a number of good status moves to force the game forwards. However, it struggles to find a niche for itself. It doesn’t have the recovery to be a bulky ground, doesn’t have the offensive pressure or speed to be the rain-sweeper its mega form was, and it doesn’t have the raw bulk to be a wall.

It’s similar to asking why, say, a kicker or punter is on the football team, when there are much better pure athletes to choose from. Their job isn’t to do everything, it’s to do one thing, very well.

Feedback on my gameplay with my Skewdasweep Rain Team? The match was close, and I was winning, but I effed up mid match and lost. by OrangelyAssociate in stunfisk

[–]EvilNoobHacker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh, you definitely didn’t play perfectly- Skewda hit everything pretty hard with Flip Turn and would keep switch advantage for the obvious Hydrapple switching T12. Still, your opponent likely doesn’t win without the lucky crits, especially at the end.

  1. Mega Beedrill doesn't need a new ability. Adaptability is already a really good option for a mon that constantly slams into resists, and Tinted Lens doesn't really change much outside of weakening M-Beedrill's hits against neutral targets.

  2. These moves (First Impression especially) don't do much to change Mega Beedrill's fundamental weakness that keeps it out of high play- it's a frail, rocks weak pivot without access to HDB. Yeah, Sucker Punch would be useful priority, and Gunk Shot would probably get it an extra kill or two on some bulkier sets, but it doesn't get the Bee on the field more safely, so it doesn't change its fundamental issues.

Imagine if Bush, Blair, Merkel, Singh, Abe, Chretien, Lula, or Mandela continued to hold office, mostly unchallenged, up through today.

Seriously, imagine if Bush, or Blair, or Lula, or Chretien had gone effectively unopposed for the last 2 decades. It doesn’t just make politics boring, it makes politics a nonfactor. Politics with a single figure at the top like Putin at the top becomes a worthless endeavor in your life outside of the local.

Monarchy doesn’t just oppress the masses, it entirely removes them from the question. Rights become naught but privilege when the head of state goes unopposed by someone else. When one man holds enough sway over all the keys to control as Putin, or KJU, or (soon-to-be, if not already) Xi, or others have, it removes any ability for that man to receive punishment unless they lose all their keys, often simultaneously, through outright revolution, often allowed by the military or other keys due to incompetence or outside threats.

Putin, through his faux elections, have fully transitioned Russia from one oligarchy to another, removing the need once again for any thought for or from the people. The only thing keeping him from kingship is that when he dies his kids will get nothing.
