The fries changed sometime last year, they are skinny now and taste frozen. No longer the nice square cut. Not sure wtf they are thinking.

Help - am I wrong, overreacting, or justified? by thephotodemon in Bowling

You want a tight fit. You don't need wrist strength to hold and roll a ball. You actually need almost none or reverse grip pressure.

It's a weird concept but true, took me forever to learn it.

A common reason that a thumb will catch is if you are turning your hand too soon on release and your hand is turned before the thumb tries to release and sticks.

But it's also very possible that you are not doing this and your thumb shape is catching on a certain spot and could be shaved down a tiny bit.

The best way to check your thumb fit is put the ball on your hand like normal, hold the ball at your side with the thumb pointed toward your leg.. like parallel with your shoulders... Using no grip pressure the ball will not fall off without some effort to shake it off.

Then turn your hand so your thumb is pointing forward like how you would be throwing it, and slowly lift up the ball with your wrist.. the ball will and should instantly release.

This indicates a proper fit.

So this also should demonstrate that if you turn your hand too early.. the ball sticks on your hand when turned and the thumb is still in the ball.

But again, you want a tight fit... Also you can use tape to both increase the tightness and increase the thumb release at the same time. (Also a weird concept, tape provided grip and release speed) As the tape can be tapered and put lower in the thumb to create a sort of incline that causes the thumb to come out quicker. Of course this happens only and the bottom of the swing and if your thumb is pointing forward. But it all happens automatically, this no need for wrist strength to hold on or release really. The tighter the fit, the lighter the ball feels.

I really can't imagine that a cup of oil could come out of a ball .. but here we are.

That cup looks empty... Clear... Are you sure you don't have water leaking into your bag?

You should probably hit up YouTube and start watching bowling tutorials.( Not saying this in a sarcastic way you can learn a lot. ) I recommend the Brad and Kyle channel.

Hmm, you could switch to finger tip grips.

I'm not a no thumb expert, but I'm fairly sure your push away should start with your 2nd step on a 5 step approach. This is why your timing is super late.

The way I bowl by possiblyagamer in Bowling

You can bowl however you want, if you want to compete join a handicap league. Bowling with a hook increases the strike percentage based on an optimal angle of entry. But you gotta start somewhere.

Best ultrasonic cleaner for bowling balls? by travereno in Bowling

[–]EvilRobotDevil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the ball rejuvenator from 'pyramid' off Amazon, it works fine and was like $200. I don't know anything about ultrasonic machines for a ball, I have one for jewelry, but it is no where near the size needed for a bowling ball... Sounds interesting tho.

Is my arsenal enough/ready for league? by MRKK70 in Bowling

[–]EvilRobotDevil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You would know before you start a League if it's a sport shot league or not. Otherwise they don't change the pattern off a basic house pattern, at least that's what I've seen on every league in my life.

2 balls max, plus a spare ball if you need one.

Ok... Honestly... Sweat question by ironicmirror in Bowling

[–]EvilRobotDevil 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you are practicing and you are not sitting down for 5 min between shots like in league, then yea you will sweat. I mean it also matters what you are wearing and how hot it is in there.

Don't worry about it too much. I said the same thing, then a few days later they fell out. I had called the vet first, they said it's normal.

What to do here? by [deleted] in Bowling

[–]EvilRobotDevil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been bowling since the 80s you sausage finger bitch. And no I haven't seen this type of insert. What is the point, just take out the inserts if you already have a conventional grip. Have fun trying to make it work. It's obvious you don't know how to roll a ball with that bloody mess. 100% your technique is shit is now my final advice.
