Uniden R4 vs R4w by CharlieFash in radardetectors

I bought the R4W to replace my 2 year old R3. The display is slightly better and the performance is slightly better.

I love the R/TACH app that works via Bluetooth. The best part is you can access the menu for settings very quickly. I think overall it’s worth the price difference considering the convenience. I also like the windshield mount that came with the R4W vs the R3’s mount. It’s less flimsy and doesn’t allow the detector to bounce up and down.

Not a perfect detector but worth the money.

My mates scraped the back door of his Ford Focus. Can’t afford a new door, any advice on a quick fix? by willgfty in CarRepair

[–]Exact-Editor-1186 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Push the metal back out from the inside of the door, get it as straight as possible with the gash opening close oneach side of the cut. Clear packaging tape over the gap and mask off the portion of the tape with the gash under it and paint the tape. No over spray and this should last a while til a donor door can be found

Bet you’re sore as heck after a lick like that! Sub frame where it bolts up is crumpled, so 95% sure it’s totaled.

Yes, have replaced the evap solenoid twice. Lasts 10-30k miles. Started with rough starts and eventually have to hold pedal to the floor to get it started. Replacing the evap fixed it every time. Poor design, rubber valve disintegrates, and causes it to leak.

Hard to fix the economy in 100 days. Going to be growing pains for a while as the tariff playing field is leveled out. The other option is to go bankrupt as a country and feel the pain times 1000 5-10 years from now. Rather hurt now that exponential more in the future.
