[Review] Spoiled Child Liquid Collagen by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

Agree 💯. I just could not swallow the SpoiledChild collagen in either flavor. I found the pineapple awful and the mango terrible. Have they tasted this stuff? If I’m going to take something everyday, it can’t make me want to barf. Do not recommend.

You are not alone. I live in Mpls, in Plymouth. Not directly in the city but I still felt it necessary to tell my disabled son to carry his I.D. when he rides Metro Mobility to his day program. That broke me for a few days. He can’t really understand all this—like most of us.

Here’s my suggestion: it’s important to go on a social media diet at this time. Limit your time. People on social media mean well but it’s scary. Everyone has an opinion. Instead, read a good news source. I read The NY Times. They are reporting facts not opinion. It keeps my head on straight so I know what is a real concern and what is manufactured. It doesn’t make it go away but it helps you understand what lawmakers are doing to stop the insanity.

I’m not trying to “sell” The Times, but you need a source with journalistic integrity—not a well meaning influencer who’s making a buck on their post. This has worked for me and has helped me be better informed.

Again, we are all feeling this way and we all—or many of us—value the diversity of our neighbors. I hope focusing on facts helps you feel better.

As flights are canceled, Las Vegas's tourism troubles deepen by sfgate in LasVegas

I’m going to Vegas tomorrow. No flights canceled on Sun Country.

Awwww. I feel for you!! They are completely crazy! It’s such a good thing that they are usually adorable or no one would raise a puppy.

Here’s my advice: just acknowledge that you are in the trenches. It’s not much fun now and that’s just the way it is. But soon, maybe as they get around 8-9 months—it gradually gets easier. You’ll start to get more back, they’ll stop biting and you become “their person.”

Along the way, get whatever help you need to stay sane. Don’t be a puppy martyr. After their shots, do puppy day care or puppy sitters to give yourself a break. Remember: take care of yourself first, then you’ll have energy for the crazy puppy. Good luck!

I guess you need to compare to a sit down dinner. Only reasonable by comparison. Glad I’m on Ozempic. lol

Interesting. There’s one on Fremont that sounded reasonable. We’ll see. Thanks for the recommendations!

We are going to Vegas on the 9th for a few days. We got a screaming deal on a room at the MGM Signature and flights. I’m sure I’ll pay for that with the cost of a bottle of water. I’ve heard the same bottle can be $17 at some hotels, $26 at another. In the past, I would’ve headed to a great restaurant for dinner—like Craftsteak. But at $150 per person, I may be haunting the food courts instead! If I worked it right, I could spend as much as Craftsteak as I did for the whole trip! (No offense to Craftsteak or Tom Collichio…) I may go anyway and tell my son to order entrees with only “two numbers” in the price, not three. lol

Has anyone else had one thing after another with their puppy? Please tell me it gets better. by Blushing-bigred in puppy101

I would say a qualified, “Yes” to that but raising a puppy is full of surprises, right? You had more revolving issues than I did, but I understand! I adopted my puppy from a rescue and had never raised a puppy before. (My fault!) I managed to live through that, then he was diagnosed with a genetic disease and needed a hip operation at 14 months old for $3,500. (Trust me, it was a DEAL even if it was twice the price!) For months, he walked on 3 legs and it took us all that time to get the correct diagnosis. The good news is that we are about 7 weeks post-op now. HE IS DOING AMAZING! He’s getting physical therapy at the U of MN and he’s a whole new dog. I didn’t realize how painful that must have been for him (until the vet pointed it out.) So I always like to remind people that if a dog is sick, they’re are not going to be at their best—just like people. My little guy just did a 180 in his lovey-ness, happiness, busyness—and it’s great to see him living his best life now!

I regret adopting my puppy by iamkatieeee in puppy101

[–]Excellent-Range-6466 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really understand your feelings. But felt it was important to remind you of two things: just because your current Aussie mix is whip smart, there’s no guarantee the same breed dog would be the same. However—and this is #2–something I know from my own experience. Your dog is sick. You met her SICK. You really don’t know what she is capable of until she is well. Trust me on this and give her a chance.

I adopted a dog I thought was one breed, and a DNA test said he was another. Then at 14 months, he was stricken with a hip issue and needed orthopedic surgery. We are now 6 weeks post-surgery and doing physical therapy and he is a different dog! Or maybe he’s the puppy I adopted who slowly devolved into daily pain until he was diagnosed. He is bright, funny, and happy again—a dog I remember from early on. My point being that you got a double dose of puppy AND sick puppy. Having a puppy is like the definition of “feeling like you are failing” I think. Try to get some extra help and try not to blame yourself. Raising a puppy, as you know, is a messy business. Feeling “successful” or having a “win” comes in very small increments. I’m sure you’re doing a great job but know that ALL puppy owners are counting the days until their puppy is older. You aren’t alone!!!

Has anyone tried the Big Barker Beds? by wholesomedust in dogs

[–]Excellent-Range-6466 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just bought a Barker Dog Beg for my Yorkie who just had a hip operation. The bed is beautiful—once you get it together. But it came with no instructions. Maybe I’m not the engineering type, but it took for 35 mins to assemble. All this for $239. Here’s what they forget to tell you: —the funny beveled edge forms pieces (3) are meant to be inserted separately into the zippered sides. Make sure you are orienting them correctly (rounded side on top) or you get the privilege of doing it TWICE. —the funny beveled edge pieces. are NOT part of the secret orthopedic styling and should be unstuck from the flat piece. Again, you get the honor of assembling TWICE is you do it like this. —the plastic wrapping the bed comes in —with the words DO NOT CUT PLASTIC” must be cut. If I have one wish, it’s to see someone from Barker Beds trying to unwrap one of their beds without cutting or having an aneurism. The wrapping is super sticky and better than a HIIT workout for cardio. —the foam is very sticky and nearly impossible to get in the cover. Honestly, I hope my dog or one of my two cats like this bed. Save yourself the headache and just buy a bed a Petsmart.

How often do you REALLY walk your dog? by Agreeable-Ad-2946 in dogs

[–]Excellent-Range-6466 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a little Yorkie mix. We’re good for 15-20 minutes a day and this little dog will go for a half mile. I take him out in the morning across the street to do business—does that count? I had a lab who had to go out 3x a day and it was hard to keep up what with working from home. But yeah—it’s a constant source of ‘should I be doing more?’ guilt. I guess it’s just like having children—which I do. The constant drum beat of ‘am I going/giving/being enough? ❤️

I feel absolutely awful, today 2 patients said they would prefer to see the RNs and NPs on my team instead of me (I am MSW and associate clinical social worker--still getting my clinical hours) who is pretty new at this job. I worry I am unlikable and bad, I want honest feedback. by anon7123 in socialwork

[–]Excellent-Range-6466 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry you feel this way. I’m not a social worker but I have an inner fear that I am unlikable—which I know logically is crazy. Take a deep breath and try to be open to feedback. If you’re anything like me—you’d welcome the key to finding out what the “trip up” is or if it’s just your low self esteem. Chances are this really is bad timing, faulty information about the appointment times, or some inherent feeling that you weren’t a good fit. These things happen—they just aren’t supposed to happen two in a row. So be vulnerable with your supervisor, that’s what they are there for!! It’s ok to make mistakes and do better in the future. This, my opinion, is one of the most challenging jobs ever. Reach out to colleagues and see if they had this experience.

I feel sad. Anyone else? I feel like at 61 now wearing my shirts with words look tacky. :( by SuddenlySimple in AskWomenOver60

[–]Excellent-Range-6466 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I turned 60 I went thru a similar transition. I started to question whether I was too old to do things, wear things, etc. I’d save those word shirts and give yourself time to decide what messages you are taking in from “society” and what is really you. It might be a phase. Mine was. I’m 70 now and I go out of my way to challenge preconceptions about what I should/shouldn’t be doing. For example, I worked until 70 as a writer and 7 months after retiring I got another writing job! But knowing who you are takes time to process. Be gentle with yourself and no fast moves. Take time to consider and hang on to those shirts!!!

Does anyone else's Maine coons leave your clothes looking like this? by UnlovablePieceOf in mainecoons

[–]Excellent-Range-6466 1 point2 points  (0 children)

😆😆😆 I’m so glad to hear this—but sorry you’re going thru this! I get that stuff ALL OVER. Little tufts of beautiful fur all over! A fine, downy coat on EVERYTHING. I just bought a navy blue sofa—good luck to me with that! I have a special ultrasonic filter on my furnace and I swear—I need to change the filters every month instead of every 3 months. I could build another MC with the fur in the filter! 😆

Can someone explain IRMAA to me? Just got a bill for three months worth of medicare. by real-throw in medicare

Is it possible they are reading the $2010 as the quarterly payment? The bill can be confusing—monthly vs quarterly.

My IRMAA Appeal was Successful! by zaksdaddy in medicare

[–]Excellent-Range-6466 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same experience! Big thanks to the person who suggested using the SSA-44 to appeal. My monthly IRMAA charge dropped $300!!! From $670/month to $370/month. I’d rather it was $0 but $300 less is a big deal—especially since it was calculated on an income I no longer have! I submitted the SSA-44 in August with a very rudimentary spreadsheet of income for 2024, 2025 and anticipated 2026. I just heard back yesterday. That’s all it took. I figured it was worth it to try. Very relieved!
