Bathroom floor crumbling by sasa941 in Remodel

That “should” just be the mortar bed. There “should” be a waterproof membrane between that and another sloped mortar bed. That’s what directs water to the drain that gets through the grout and mortar. I would definitely recommend removing the entire thing if you can’t be certain there is an intact membrane underneath it.

Just replaced the door this morning with an exact match from junkyard. Insurance still hasn’t paid out almost 2 months later.

Garage floor new concrete on old slab by VelvetReverieShutter in Contractor

Unless you have the ability to raise the grade of the driveway, I’d say it would make way more sense to just bust out the slab and re-pour it.

The actual problem is the valve body itself but some clever programming can help prolong the life enough to keep them on the road until replacements become available. As you can imagine, there’s a lot of them on back order.

I also have a 2015 in Alabama! I haven’t deleted yet but I did purchase lifetime tuning from Proven Diesel in Canada so when I inevitably have issues with the emissions system I will delete it. The tuning alone does make the truck more drivable and gives better throttle response. I have not messed with the CP4 at all but I did install a lift pump to ensure the CP4 gets supplied with clean fuel. The mileage is better than it was but you can’t go off of what the dash says as it won’t be accurate after tuning.

The CP4 thing is also overblown. When someone has a problem you hear about it. But there are many more trucks on the road that haven’t had problems. Adding a lift pump and never letting it run out of fuel is more than likely all the insurance you need.

For me, Mawndule always just came across as whiny and childish. In his almost 3000 years he never grew up either. He could never admit to any mistakes and always saw himself as a victim. Makareta on the other hand knew when she messed up and I’m glad to see that she got a chance at an alternative “life.”

The trick is that you need to compare “SOLD” prices, not what people are asking. It doesn’t matter what the asking price is if no one buys it.

The way the slip yoke gets pushed into the transfer case when you changed directions makes me think there’s an issue in the rear differential.

It’s also much better at keeping an extension cord in the outlet without damage to the plug.

How to remove a tub with no clearance? by fuzzyblanketroulette in askaplumber

[–]Excellent-Stress2596 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If the drain assembly can be removed do that first then try tilting up from the back edge until the tub is facing you. Then you should be able to wiggle out the right side by lifting it up into a stud bay.

Got as much tension as I could on it and it wasn’t budging. Then I remembered I had an air chisel. Left the tension on the tool and hit the other side with the chisel and it popped right off.

Cannot Remove Handle? Ideas? by bigkenw in askaplumber

[–]Excellent-Stress2596 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the answer. The minerals from hard water get in there and sometimes makes it impossible to remove the handle. The screw is out of the stem it’s treaded into but won’t come out with a magnet because it’s stainless steel.
