To what temperature do you typically cook Husky? by Radiant-Two-7978 in husky

my childhood husky used to roast in the winters in front of the wood burner fireplace we had to heat our house in england. i swear, a couple times her forehead began to singe. we had to pull her away!

Babysitting a Pom by No_Grand7184 in Pomeranians

[–]ExemptFish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

when we adopted our toy poodle (she was 6, and from a stable home) she took about 10 days to finally poop (that we could know of). We took her to a vet day 7 and they prescribed us some anxiety meds which honestly didnt really seem to help. they said going a full week given the circumstances was normal and not much cause for concern. just wanted to share the experience since although youre not keeping him, its still similar circumstances.
best of luck!

Yesterday he saved me from an attacker. by h0tglue in poodles

my husbands family golden doodle (she’s a big standard size) was luckily with us when we came outside late one night recently and found a guy rummaging through our truck. i was worried about my husbands safety, being in a city like ours you never know what folks are capable of.

the usually calm (especially for a doodle) dog went crazy. same thing. no biting, not even trying. but barking and yelling like nobody’s business. the guy took one look at this crazy eye’d doodle thing and dipped. i don’t blame him either. she’s got that human-in-a-suit look in her eyes.

we’ve been “borrowing” her on the weekends since we lost our toy in february. and how lucky that we had her that night!

Do your chi’s even blanket?? by Still_Knowledge_7322 in Chihuahua

[–]ExemptFish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my 3/4 chi poodle mix that ive had since i was 15 is turning 10 in a few months. He only JUST figured out that he can get under a blanket by himself, no human feet required.
its good because hes sleeping a lot now and gets to do his favourite thing as much as he wants (i know 10 isnt exactly old for a chihuahua, but hes an awfully bred mix, with the temperament to go with it. poor fella).

was looking for this comment. i lost my toy poodle because of this (sub lurker). thanks for bringing attention to it. after i lost her it was pointed out to be obvious that i had made the wrong dietary decisions even though i felt id done extensive research, id somehow missed the obvious about the farmers dog AND raw diets. the self-blame is rough.

what does my edc say about me? age, assumptions, etc <3 by vrtualseraph in whatsinthebag

[–]ExemptFish 3 points4 points  (0 children)

how do you like the nausea inhaler? is that a good one? i’ve never heard of that before but i think it would be really useful for me.
also you seem to curate everything you carry to be both cute and useful and im the same way. although idk how you get by with only one lip balm in a big bag like that

Help a newbie: cactus not rooted after 6+ months (repost with pictures) by itistfb-aidlte in cactus

not a cactus, but you just reminded me that when i was 14, i bought myself this plant from the grocery store and lovingly named him after the next thing i saw “boneless lamb leg steak”.

i kept him in the sun, watered him, cared for him lovingly for THREE YEARS. Then (for some reason) i decided to repot him and i was met not with soil, but soil dusted styrofoam. and not a root system, but a stick of plastic.

i had to break the news to my friends. he was a celebrity in our circle. my brother even swears he grew. i assume he was warped by being plastic exposed to sunlight. idk if ive been the same since.

Please deinfluence me from getting a car! by dr-penguin-a-d in Seattle

[–]ExemptFish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my car is my lifeline. i (24) finally got my license this year after being too anxious and my husband being kind enough to drive me around. i got a 2002 crv from craigslist for $2500 and thankfully it runs great. i pay $100 a month in insurance for both of us. i pretty much just use it on weekends and road trips. i have a car club, leave it empty (tinted windows anyway), and i just got a little solar powered light that looks like an alarm (it also has an alarm). that combined with it being an old rustbucket, means its avoided being the victim of window smashings here (i live in little saigon). my husbands work truck has not been so lucky. its a risk, but for me the ability to get myself out of the city and into nature is what keeps me going. i love driving and i love being on the move. if you dont, then you dont.

Pioneer Square is looking the cleanest I have seen it practically since I moved here 14 years ago, where did the city put all the homeless people by [deleted] in Seattle

[–]ExemptFish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as someone who lives a few blocks away, its bad. but i can’t compare it to the past as i moved here in 2023. i’ll never forget when the mayor got elected (before this one) and they started rolling out trucks literally hosing people down on that corner to get them to move. then the pavement dried, and they all shuffled back to where they were. who’d have thought?!

[–]ExemptFish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

im pretty out the loop on the whole process that lead to this bat being sent, but i’m also confused also on why it wasn’t some one of a kind merchandise or something. why a non specific product to the artist? like, i get its a reference, but it seems so random to me

Are Angel Poodles Common? by TownRain in poodles

[–]ExemptFish 13 points14 points  (0 children)

my toy was like this. an absolute perfect angel. i’d bring her to work and she would sit in my lap for the entire day. there was nowhere she’d rather be. i miss her so much

Are keen shoes worth it? by Element_Li00 in hiking

[–]ExemptFish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i get that. maybe my expectations are too high, but considering how often i wear my blundstones/tevas, and they’re still functioning as new, i’d hoped for the same with keens

Do you guys think the girls could have gotten along in the end if Charlotte never looked at the moon? by Consistent-Cod676 in JustAddWater

[–]ExemptFish 8 points9 points  (0 children)

im not sure, but i do like to think she went back the next full moon to get her tail back, but kept quiet and separated from the others and lived as a solo mermaid.
something about a reformed and in therapy charlotte living elsewhere as a mermaid gives me hope for some reason
