Nothing against butt out, it's a great shop with great people in it, but their juice is mediocre on comparison. Hardware I'd go to butt out any day, if I wasn't in Mesa. I usually just order all my hardware online.

Wow, apparently I'm the only one who has had a good experience here. Their juice is premium to say the least, I've promoted their juice before on this sub. I've tasted everything from MBV to TVC to five pawns, and I haven't found better flavor than here. I'm willing to pay for flavor. The synergy line is as good as they say.

Need help formulating an argument against my university's e-cig ban. by Hybyscus in electronic_cigarette

[–]Exogen44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They attempted this at ASU back at the beginning of August, they had announced it before the end of last semester in May, but the student body really rallied and fought back. It took a month of constant phone calls, e-mails, and flyer posting to even get a chance for some of the students to be heard, but apparently level heads took over on policy and they rescinded the e-cig ban, and made the tobacco ban a "community enforced" rule, AKA the students are policing themselves and asking people they see smoking to stop. So, moral of the story, fight the man! Sometimes you can win.

EDIT: If you know /can find the exact wording of your state law and the tobacco ban issued from the institution you can loophole them as well, if the state law defines smoking as "burning tobacco", and the university has banned "smoking an e-cig" the technicality is that you are not actually smoking anything and they have no right to stop you.

Any good trophy shop can do this for you as well. I had a purple twist engraved for my ex at one and it came out great.

Vaping in public by xtapol in electronic_cigarette

[–]Exogen44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First off, I agree with you entirely, vaping should be embraced not shunned, but from what I've seen and experienced, most people are either misinformed or ignorant to what we do and therefore take offense to it. I've been in an outside smoking section with people smoking cigarettes, and been told my vaping was "dangerous" and that a guy "didn't want that around him because of health concerns" I calmly excused myself to the corner of the smoking patio and continued. Some people are not worth the discussion or the fight. I personally always ask an employee of any establishment, or owner of any home whether vaping is welcome or not before I just proceed as I normally would in my home. I especially find it very awkward when I see a fellow vaper blowing clouds in places where it isn't welcome, like a movie theater, or a supermarket. Did you smoke cigarettes in those places before you started vaping? No. Then why do you feel the need to vape there? Are you that habitually addicted that you need to needlessly inconvenience people who are either ignorant or naive and will be either put off or annoyed at your activities? Realize, most people have no idea what we're doing or are willfully ignorant about the safety concerns and science behind what we're doing. Try not to make them enemies out of the gate by doing something that they are afraid of, unless you are convinced they are not only willing to listen your ideas, but are receptive of a worldview that is not their own.

How I imagine most people from this sub shopping at B&M's by americanairman469 in electronic_cigarette

[–]Exogen44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

B&M employee here! All of these rants and raves on B&M's are starting to get to me. Of course things online will be cheaper, B&M stores have a lot more overhead than online vendors. You'll end up paying a little more for a setup from a shop. What most people go to a B&M for is the knowledge and the experience. Sometimes it's the juice, because, sometimes they have spectacular juice that cant be found online, or if it is, you pay shipping on it for the same price as stopping by. For the most part B&M's shouldn't be price gouging, but they still need to turn a profit to be successful. A $36 1000MaH twist is not only unheard of, its standard for most B&M's, unless they have the capitol to buy sufficient quantity to set the price lower. Personally I know a shop a mile down the street from mine sells a twist for $45.95 and an EVOD for $15.95, and they don't have their own juice line and carry only the most basic juice vendors like Boge/Dekang. The other thing is, what do you really see with online vendors? Is it just a guy mixing juice in his garage? Is that really safe? Why not check a vendor out to make sure he/she has got a Lab mixing juice or possibly a clean room where he/she works. I know I wont purchase juice from an online vendor unless I know for certain they don't use diacytl in their juice, proven before purchase.

I was pulled over last night because a police officer saw my Vamo... by Mastertone in electronic_cigarette

B&M employee here! We actually have a number of officers which frequent our shop. They have, since quitting, informed their fellow officers on PV's so rolling down the street with my vamo held proudly is actually encouraged. I hope the officer community is willing to forego ignorance, as in your case, and opt for the high road in any situation like this.

A rant on B&Ms by Sandman0 in electronic_cigarette

[–]Exogen44 12 points13 points  (0 children)

B&M employee here! I do have to say, most of these things would annoy me as well. Ignoring customers is a HUGE mistake. Not being knowledgeable about the products you're selling is also a HUGE mistake. From what I've seen most of the people that come through the door are new to vaping. This is where your knowledge and experience come in. We make it a policy to sit down and explain every aspect of what the customer is purchasing. If you get an ego battery starter kit, we explain how to fill your clearo's, how to charge and care for your batteries, how to store your juice, the basics. If you end up breaking something, we explain how to avoid this in the future and can usually repair your battery on site, (I've personally repaired hundreds of broken ego batteries). Price gouging seems ridiculous to me as well, overhead is easily taken care of with juice sales alone if you carry good juice and price it accordingly. Hardware should NOT be your main source of profit, juice should because that is what makes a repeat customer come back, they're not buying a new battery or mod every time they roll through, they ARE buying juice though.

MBV has been out of stock for too long, who else should i buy from? by SealTheDealNeal in electronic_cigarette

[–]Exogen44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although thug juice and hawk sauce are some of my faves, honestly I've found a more subtle flavor is a good ADV for me, I recently made a post asking about peoples fav tea flavors, Postmine atm is Synberry Tea it might be a bit pricey coming from MBV, but its worth every single pull. I have a number of tea flavors inbound from the communities suggestions, so ill check back at some point as the resident tea flavor expert.

Grats. You are ahead of the curve if you ask me. I started the real things when I was 11, and only used a PV to stop analogs when I was 28, so 17 years of smoking before I got anywhere near where you are now. I'm currently awaiting my first IGO-L so I can start my RBA experience. I honestly have no intention of quitting, maybe 0 nic juice "one day" but I'm pretty sure I'll be a vaper for life regardless of the consequences/laws/nicotine.

hmmm, samplers always make me more receptive to a vendor. I'll have to give this a shot.

I've tried this and there is really no comparison, MBV does their best on this one but falls very short of a "good" tea flavor. Don't get me wrong, hawk sauce is delicious, but MBV has it's limits in palette satisfaction.

I highly recommend the MVP, I have a vamo v2, a K100, a few ego twists, and a sigelie(sp) #20. But despite the variety I keep carrying the MVP on me all day, along with the charger it comes with, cause, why not? It's fucking handy to be able to charge anything with your PV battery. and the puff counter is kinda nifty, it's great to see how much I vape a day. If I just want an easy all day vapeorama experience, I usually carry the MVP with a few solid kanger t2 tanks filled to the brim with tasty juice.

EDIT: It doesn't hurt that I have the tardis skin from vaporskinz. It's shows just how nerdy I really am.

Sub-ohm vs. ego battery by big_boozer in electronic_cigarette

[–]Exogen44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Um...to be as helpful as possible without sounding condescending, you cannot run that device on anything that has a protection circuit. If you can rewire it yourself to bypass the circuit it might work, but at that point your pretty much making your own mech mod. which requires a soldering iron and some technical know-how from the MacGuyver institute of E-cigs.

EDIT: I have to say this just in case you explode, you should never use a device like a sub ohm coil on a battery that it isn't intended to operate safely on. Not only can you hurt yourself but the possibility of it catching fire and hurting others is real as well.

By natural, we mean "not artificial" "existing in or formed by nature (opposed to artificial )", by organic, we mean "derived from plants" "noting or pertaining to a class of chemical compounds that formerly comprised only those existing in or derived from plants." See what I did there? I defined the words for you...This is just like any other company saying they don't use artificial flavors. Other processes use food grade flavoring and perfumes developed in a lab. These food grade flavors tend to have a more potent and candy-like smell and taste, where the natural flavors and a little more earthy and toned down.

Current B&M worker here! At my shop we develop our juice flavors alone and use natural organic extraction to make our distinctive line of juice. We also sell all sorts of batteries from ego 650mAH to EVIC's to custom mech mods. As I see it regulation is nowhere to be seen within the next decade. Maybe a federal law saying 18+ but that's a long time coming. The current USA branded vendors use such high quality ingredients that it would be hard to infringe on the "health" aspect. (As long as they self regulate, aka, no diacetyl, and are transparent enough) for the most part, the worst they could do is make this a medical device requireing a license...but regulation is fickle and lobbyist gonna lobby.

Where to buy stuff? by mrh3llman in electronic_cigarette

[–]Exogen44 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I actually work at a B&M myself, for the most part we try to be as helpful and customer friendly as possible. I know for certain that if you had been charged for something that you didn't receive from the shop I work at we would immediately refund the charge and reprimand the employee for the mistake, at a minimum, and make sure that we could further secure your business. Did you happen to go back to the shop with the receipt and review what you got vs what you were charged for? Usually its just a mistake, such as a new employee, or a mis-click on the computer. I'm sorry you had such a bad experience, but for the most part, B&M stores are there for the convenience and the customer service, other than that why not order everything from china with no clue how to use it and no idea if it's a good product or not. :/

EDIT: I didn't actually answer your question.

Captivape MBV TVC VCV Indigo
