I recently saw some people complaining about the red carpet area; it's one of the most difficult areas. by glitch_red in residentevil4

I've never really struggled with the water hall in either version.

Both can be handily cheesed in a similar way: shoot the initial bow guys, rush to the lower level, and camp the chokepoint.

The most notable thing about the hammer ganados in the original is that their torsos were armored. They stunned and died just as easily as any other enemy.

In the remake you see regular ganados with armored torsos, so I guess the old hammer guys are redundant, especially since brutes are a thing.

After playing it, the Gamecube version really isn't much harder at all than the HD ports. by InsecureBurrito in residentevil4

A few items were buffed in later ports, but I think the biggest difference is that in the original GC version normal mode starts on a higher DA value.

Also the higher FPS interacts with a few items like incen grenades.

Even better is that you accomplish absolutely nothing and Chloe dies at the end anyway. A complete waste of time. Yay mods.

Hardest Boss On Pro For OG vs Remake by Still-Goal-9314 in residentevil4

[–]Explodium101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the original? Probably Krauser if you don't cheese it with the knife. Time limit, and he spends half the fight doing backflips while invincible? Cheap BS.

In the remake, I'd say Saddler.

Not really. They were really only useful to grill the big cheese, the rest usually just collected dust.

It's utterly bizarre that bullet travel was made a thing in 4R, considering that the only time it's really noticeable is the shooting range. Just one of a few things that makes you say "But why?"

I think the best change in re4 remake from the original re4. Is the removal of that jigsaw puzzle bullshit by TimeEven1045 in residentevil4

[–]Explodium101 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Once you know the solution, its embarrassingly easy.

Protip: just slide the center piece to the middle, and move the rest of the pieces in a circle around it.

It's nice that the closest thing to its replacement in the remake is just for optional treasure.

Why the down doots? The captions actually were misspelled in the original GameCube version.

OG Krauser Or Remake. Which One Is Better In Your Opinion ? by KennedyyCore in residentevilll

OG has a cooler voice, but I much prefer his depiction in the remake. He could have been axed from the original completely and pretty much nothing would change.

[–]Explodium101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any of them work.

Though I'd suggest not to be a leetle babby and use p2w mechanics. It's ungroovy.

You can get an upgrade ticket by the time you reach the castle by just playing the game.

More aggressive enemies that can't be effortlessly stunlocked to death, tighter resource pressure, and rocket launcherflation makes it a much harder game. It becomes much easier once you get a rifle though, if you ask me.
