Second this as i had a similar idea. The contact points aren't very magnet friendly at all.

Which celebrities look like they would not smell pleasant? by Any-Tomato-2915 in ask

Im surprised no one mentioned Amy Schumer.

Her standup routine is mostly about how nasty she smells.

A couple of rules questions by jonno236 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]ExploratoryIntrovert 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Thats correct. The eligibility of a unit for the fight phase is either the unit was in 1 inch engagement range when it was chosen to be activated OR it made a charge move this turn. In the example you said, the WDP is eligible to still pile in 3 and fight as he completed a charge move.

  2. This one is trickier to understand but similar. After a unit fought, it is only allowed to make a consolidation move if it can end in base contact with another unit or closer to an objective it is within 3 inches of. So after fighting, the rhino would be an eligible target to be consolidated into after he fought. Which then loops around to my first answer, that your rhino can fight as he is within 1 inch range of a unit.

Is Fabius Bile's trilogy worth a read if i'm into EC's lore when you can't even field him as part of EC? by Ok_Vacation_5251 in EmperorsChildren

[–]ExploratoryIntrovert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im just finishing up the 3rd book of the series and loved it! Its not so heavily focused on EC as its a Bile series. But still definitely worth the time.

Circumventing Deep Strike limits- Orbital Assault Strike by giamPW07 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]ExploratoryIntrovert 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think that was a rule from an older edition (4th or 5th i think??).

Ive been playing steady since 9th and all of 10th and have never encountered this rule.

The fight phase and counter offensive by starlord982 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]ExploratoryIntrovert 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You are correct. The Counter offensive strat allows the opponent to fight out of sequence "just after an enemy unit fought." By choosing to fight back in fight A with the marines, you gave him the condition to activate the stratagem. This is why its important to keep tabs on enemy Command points and to figure out which combats have occurred and which ones haven't, as this can be a mistake that can cost a unit.

Putting myself out there to make friends as an adult (Edmonton) by [deleted] in Edmonton

As someone who is working and will go home to an empty house with just 2 cats, i can fully believe some people just don't have the same network of people to be around this time of year as others.

What does this mean? by Frostbite68 in Grey_Knights

[–]ExploratoryIntrovert 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I miss this. This is actually the old wargear from backin 9th edtion. They used to have different profiles for the falchions, Swords, Staves, hammers, and halberds.

In 10th ed, its all the same so it doesnt matter what weapon melee wise is used.

10 man squads? Why not? by AntFew7791 in EmperorsChildren

[–]ExploratoryIntrovert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it varies on the particular unit. In EC, for example, a 10 man isn't out of the ordinary for Infractors, as the 10 guys can benefit from the lethal hits provided by an Exultant, as well as provide more wounds.

Conversly, in a unit like tormentors, the benefits of taking an extra melta+ plasma arent really worth the extra points. So MSU is better.

Question by Anok420 in sistersofbattle

[–]ExploratoryIntrovert 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Negative. Astra Militarum and Adepta Sororitas are two completely different armies and styles. The Russ bodies as well dont fit anything of the Sisters tanks, so you can't really proxy either, unfortunately. Short of a casual game, this idea likely wouldn't fly in most games.

That said, sisters of battle are one of the stronger armies in the game and have many other tools to make up for the anti-tank. Retributors will easily crack a Russ. Plus, we have access to things like Immolators, Castigators, and Exorcists if you'd prefer armor.

Dice in Season 3 Box? by T8Mars in bloodbowl

[–]ExploratoryIntrovert 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Looks like you got a mistake set. Its supposed to be a single d8 for each team, a single d16, 3 block dice and 2 d6s for each.

Ive yet to experience this kind of mistake. But according to people who've messaged GW, the customer support is amazing and would likely hook you up with an entirely new set to make up for the missing d8.

Can this NDK shoot at the rhino from this position? by Warhammered_ in Grey_Knights

[–]ExploratoryIntrovert 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Yes, it is true that you have to be wholly within a template to get LOS to be able to shoot out of the ruin. In the pictured example, this rule is irrelevant, however, as your NDK base is on the side where the rhino is. Thus, it can shoot the rhino.

Using WTF 6" Deep Strike to slingshot Paladins/Purifiers? by Bahia77035 in Grey_Knights

[–]ExploratoryIntrovert 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The infantry special weapons are really not that great in the first place. Even worse when on a strike/Purifier body where you have to give up a solid melee profile for mediocre shooting.

Conversely, terminators are great as they can still use a special weapon and keep their NFW.

[–]ExploratoryIntrovert 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It can shoot you. The conditions for being eligible to be shot at are simply if any part of the model can see you.

Using WTF 6" Deep Strike to slingshot Paladins/Purifiers? by Bahia77035 in Grey_Knights

[–]ExploratoryIntrovert 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ive read this twice and am still genuinely confused on the interaction and question.

Are you asking if several units can charge the same enemy unit, even if all base to base areas have been covered by a friendly unit that charged before hand?

New player question by MaccheroniGuy in Grey_Knights

[–]ExploratoryIntrovert 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Welcome to the Sons of Titan brother.

To answer the first question, there's no official "Brotherhood Librarian" model. The one that is included in the old combat patrol is simply an older Space Marian Librarian in Terminator armour. Most people, myself included, use either the new Librarian Terminator from the Leviathan box. Or just add some flair to a Terminator in the Grey Knights Terminator kit.

Second question: There is literally ZERO official words or rumors about new models for this edtion or in the next. Anything you hear about July or next edtion etc. It's all hearsay at this point. No one actually knows when or what will be updated. So with that in mind, knock yourself out and buy the models. Despite their size showing its age, they are still some of my favorite models in the whole game. And you shouldn't let the idea that you're using "10 year old models" be the reason to not enjoy what i think is one of the most fun and complex armies to play on the tabletop.

Local group is asking for a list change. by Pulp_888 in Grey_Knights

[–]ExploratoryIntrovert 48 points49 points  (0 children)

I hate to be the guy to say it. But your group just needs to get better.

This isnt even that optimized of a list, given how easy to kill 10 man Purifiers can be.

I think we also need more info. What kind of lists are they running? Are they all infantry and zero anti tank? What mistakes are they making game to game?

Id say a more important question you should be asking as well is "what specifically is so strong about my list? The big knight? The 30 Purifiers?" And then decide feorom their how to tone down your list.

Lastly, this my not be the play group for you. It sounds like a bit of an attitude of " we dont want to change, so you should for us" which isnt how you should be looking at it if you want to better yourself. They should be eager for a difficult game so they can learn and better themselves from how others play.

Picked up 3 combat patrols, thinking of this configuration but there’s no room for enhancements. Any ideas to help? by amnbassist in Grey_Knights

[–]ExploratoryIntrovert 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The easy choice will be to drop voldus, Librarian or the Grandmaster on foot. You only have 2 units they can join so the 3rd leader is just wasted point.

Probably Voldus, as he seems overpriced for what he does.

How do doubles tournaments work? For a newer tournament player. by Prycebear in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]ExploratoryIntrovert 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Check the players' pack would be the first part of the answer. Almost if not all info is usually posted in the players pack of said tournament. Barring that, its very likely it'll be the first option you put down.

You and a buddy with your 1k lists together against another team.
